Could make a killer fake GTO, the price isn't bad either considering it drives.

The Vernal car is a post. That makes it a little rare but not more or less valuable. I dig the GTO but I'd just keep it a Tempest. It even has the factory rallye wheels. Stir in as much Butler Performance as you can and you'd have a very cool car.

It's been interesting having my "Custom 455" at shows. People ask if it's a GS (assuming they know about those---some people ask what kind of a Chevelle it is). I've had 5-6 comments from people that they like seeing the non-performance models at the shows. Gives some contrast to the "cool" versions

Didn't I learn from My Cousin Vinny that the Tempest had an LSD and independent rear suspension?

I think those were just in the early 60's. To my knowledge, the '64 is the same as a Chevelle. Rear solid axle. Tempest/LeMans/GTO carries on as an A-body. The DeLorean inspired '64 GTO was a Tempest/LeMans with a 389.
