Sandy the buggy

The P.O./builder installed this brake bias valve between the seats to help with a front dig. It’s just a single line in, single line out.

The idea is to crank up the brake bias for the rear axle, step on the brake with the rear axle in neutral, and gas it to dig the front end around. It does work, but not very well. I usually have trouble with stickers my calipers after using it, plus it’s hard on the front axle because you’re driving through the applied brakes on the front as well.

I know most will recommend cutting brakes, but I’d kinda like to keep it simple and replace this bias valve with a ball valve. Colt Clewly (Colt Builds it) on YouTube has something sorta like what I want. He just mashes the brake pedal, closes the valve, then he can let off the brake pedal and the rear brakes stay locked until he opens the valve.

Does anyone know where I could source a ball valve that would be appropriate for this?

what about a line lock?

Most of the “line locks” I see are electrical and seemingly more complicated than what I want. The manual style line locks that I see are a push button style, and I’m worried they would be engaged if something bumped it while moving.

if you can fit even one cutting brake anywhere in there, do it. No one that’s had cutting brakes changes to a ball valve, I’m just saying.

I have an Empi one in two out sitting in a box from my old VW buggy and it worked so mint. I kinda want to swap out my rear spool and go ARB so I could use it.
I think a second set of calipers and a cutting setup with independent masters would be so rad.
