Sorry, I mistyped. It was chlorine dioxide 🤦‍♂️

Embarrassing... just like that time I called remote res shocks bypass shocks. I will never recover from this. X-D

Very different chemicals! Probably more like calling a Duramax an EV than your shock example.

So yes, chlorine is used to treat water and is safe for consumption at those levels. Chlorine gas is also used in chemical warfare. Chlorine bleach can be highly toxic ingested, inhaled or in contact with eyes or other sensitive tissues.

It is not considered at higher doses that that used in water purification.

Could there be that happy medium when it is both safe and effective as a treatment for infectious diseases? Perhaps but far from established. Especially as to a long term cure and not single day drop in identifiable organism as they used in the video.

I mean it's not that far off. Sodium chlorite (not chloride) mixed with hydrochloric acid = Chlorine Dioxide. I just goofed a little with my memory.
You can use citric acid instead of hydrochloric as well.

It is worth noting that chlorine dioxide is not bleach. That is sodium hypochlorite.

Reminds me of my high school chemistry class. I walked in to the final exam with a big fat F in the class. Before the teacher handed out the test she announced extra credit for anyone who came back the next day to help her take down the room for summer storage. I for sure came back the next day, cleaned the room and walked away with a B in the class. 😎
Other than that I have no idea what you guys are talking about.

I've made it clear that I think Trump is of the lowest moral fiber and a con artist, but I gotta tip my hat to the guy for that TikTok trick. Pretty brilliant. I respect the game.

Call him whacko or not, I’m excited to see what this no holds President is going to do.

His inauguration speech was awesome. If he can do even a shred of what he wants, I think it will be great.

I don’t understand the Panama Canal, gulf of America, or Mars landing.. but if it is good for the USA, go for it.

We’ve seen what four years of basically uncontrolled Democrats can do, and I didn’t like it one bit.

I am very much looking forward to at least two years of uncontrolled Trump. Whether it’s a shiz storm or not, it’s going to be a fun run!

What’s the cliff notes?
In his first term he introduced the legislation to ban TikTok to stoke some Chinese fears and American Nationalism...once the SCOTUS felt like they were going to be passing that, they all started buying META stock.

Then, he became homies with the CEO of Tik Tok. Who was also at the inauguration.

Tiktok gets "banned" Saturday night. Sunday late morning, it comes back online with a message specifically thanking Donald Trump for bringing TikTok back. lol.

Such an obvious PR stunt for him. He's anti-China when he needs to stir up the fears of the working class, then pro-China when China can do something for him. It was a clever play.

You'll have to remember, what's best for Americans means less to him than what's best for Trump. He's not going to waste his time on it unless he knows he can make money on it or create a more favorable environment for the super-rich to make money and further consolidate more wealth. There's a reason the super wealthy were there today (Zuckerberg, Bezos, Musk, Cook, Altman, McMahon etc etc) and it's not because they think he's going to tax them or make wages for their workers higher. He has no concern for the American lower or middle class, and would gladly light them on fire if it meant they had to buy his water to put it out.

Over 200 million in private money was donated to fund the inauguration today. They know who their cash cow is. Everyone talks about draining the swamp, but the swamp is like Lake Eerie now and they don't even feel they need to hide it. The Republican party is supposed to represent the working class people, but he's using the working class people to enable a rich oligarchy to rise to power...and the working class will thank him for it as the super rich line their pockets with the wealth that will trickle up to them through his policies.

I could be wrong, but I could have swore that first time was just a federal employee ban for security reasons. I know Utah did the same thing, banned state employees from having the app installed on state owned phones and such.

It does play like a total PR stunt though.

I have lots of friends and some family that are effected by this. Fortunately they are all physically okay. This is primarily all about massive incompetence of elected officials. Those officials are primarily concerned with DEI, and appearing 'Green'. The video I posted of Adam Carolla talking about the sheer idiocy of those policies and elected officials, is spot on. Instead of 'hiring' people solely because of which gender they are, or the kind of sex they have, or how they 'identify' themselves, hire people who are the best candidates for the important job they will hold. Period.

IF the best candidate for a job is a black lesbian tranvestite, who identifies as a 'furry', more power to them, just be competent to do the job you are entrusted to do. If the only reason you get the job is because you are a "black lesbian transvestite, who identifies as a 'furry' ", well as we see, that's a problem.

Your gender, your sexual proclivities, or whatever is irrelevant, as long as we're talking consenting adults. I'll vote for you IF YOU CAN DO THE JOB. Make sure the infrastructure is ready to handle a potential fire, before it becomes a disaster.

Everyone knows they can get strong winds in the area, yet they have power lines strung from old wooden poles looking like downtown Vietnam. A breeze picks up, and old wooden poles snap, there's a spark, and here comes another fire burning through overgrown foliage on the hills, which in the (distant) past when elected officials had common sense, was managed...

They've been taxed to supposedly take care of these issues, but the money doesn't go to taking care of the infrastructure...

I watched an interview with DEI hire LA Mayor Karen Bass. She is a MORON. Platitudes aren't going to cut it. When asked where citizens can get info on where to get help from their elected officials, she said, go to 'URL'. She isn't competent enough to know you need to follow that up with an actual address...

Or Anderson Cooper asking Newsom why there wasn't any water for the firemen to actually fight the fires, he stammers: "That's a local issue" abdicating his responsibility. If Anderson had any balls, or if he wasn't stunned by the stupidity of Newsom's answer, he would've said you're the Governor, this is all under your purview.

When a nearly hysterical resident asks Newson what he's doing, he tries to hurriedly get into an SUV before she gets too close, but then realizes he's on camera, and feigns being on a call to President Biden. The resident says let me talk to Biden, and Newsom backtracks and says, err, uhh, I'm trying to get a signal. Like it would matter if he was, Biden would just tell him he's a new grandpa, like he did at another press conference regarding these devastating fires...

No one is happy seeing this devastating destruction. I only hope that moving forward, the residents who voted for ideology over competence, reconsider their position.
Now policy is when strong winds are possible they shut off grid power until the winds are over. Could be days, could be weeks. So these fires are the result of faulty power lines.

I seem to remember PG&E made efforts to get permits to start moving power lines underground but were stopped due to California Enviromental policy. The same people who keep them from clearing fuels essentially advocated for the torch to start it.

I know people at Pacificorp and had a long chat with a higher-up about how they’re taking great lengths to bury lines or update poles all over. He said they’re getting killed by lawsuits due to fires if there’s any chance they were caused by power lines.
