    Tesla Truck (Cybertruck)

Having watched this last night, I'd say this is easily the definitive video describing the Cybertruck. It is well worth your time.

    Turbo time!

I believe you can. Those shifters use the same pattern, right? IIRC, the shift pattern didn't change until the introduction of the A523/A568... which is why you'd need to swap cable setups if you upgraded to one of those later transmissions.

I finally remembered to dig this up: (Sorry for the sunlight washout--this is the only photo I have.)

The Car conundrum, what to buy.

For a few years, Matt Happel has used a bare bones 'work spec' reg cab shortbed Colorado as his 'test bed' for a variety of engines. That short wheelbase has got to be scary with that much power underhood. Indeed, one of my favorite videos he ever posted was a compilation of a few burnouts in...

The Car conundrum, what to buy.

That Ford looks pretty cool, but if you want a sleeper pickup that makes similar/more power for even less, just go buy a Chev/GMC truck with a GenIII V8 and install a hair dryer (or two) underhood. You can decide how much wheel horsepower you want to make--700? 800? 1200??? It's up to you. If...

The Car conundrum, what to buy.

True fact: back when the modern Charger debuted, I really wanted one. To keep myself from jumping into a pool of debt, I decided it might satisfy my desire if I owned something similar... so I bought a 1995 Caprice 9C1 LT1 which had been an unmarked detective car for the Kaysville PD (I was the...

The Car conundrum, what to buy.

<GASP!> I knew you guys would like the extra power.

The Car conundrum, what to buy.

Fast is usually fun (it is for me, anyway), but how wild do you need to go? In other words, there is always someone else on the road who spent more money than you and can go faster than you. Based on that fact, I'd suggest you begin by coming up with a reasonable target as far as speed...

Fire Extinguishers; The Good, Bad & the Ugly

Wow, that Element extinguisher stick didn't do jack.

Aww, no more wagon wheels? EDIT: say, would you be interested in a set of factory pizza wheels? Or (15") pumpers?

Anyone else want to buy an old cheap turbo Dodge? https://cars.ksl.com/listing/8781518 This one even has a common block TurboII engine under the hood.

    Turbo time!

This is the same piece for an A-555 IIRC. (Just sayin' in case you ever come across one.) One of the greatest thing about the Grainger valve that surprises many people is how much harder the boost will rise, even if you dial it in for stock (or near-stock) peak boost. Most people don't realize...

    Turbo time!

Aww, the old Intellitronix a/f gauge. I miss the days of watching those LEDs bob up and down. I've always been a big fan of AutoMeter gauges. They have never failed me. I should see if I can dig up an old photo of my gauge layout in the minivan. I think you (and others here) would get a good...

    Turbo time!

On a non-intercooled T1, I would not go higher than 12-13 psi (which is about the max you can get away with without fiddling with your MAP sensor).

    Turbo time!

My first car was an '86 Shelby Charger, silver with blue stripe/trim. Gus Mahon used extra injectors with great success. They are a simple concept which, when installed correctly, work well. I installed one briefly on my minivan, only to have the dragstrip tech people frown on it due to...

    Turbo time!

Knowing the engine runs well, this is a good plan. Even without an intercooler, using a g-valve and dialing it in to 13 psi will be plenty fun to drive. (I did this with my '86 Shelby Charger <my first turbo Dodge car> back in the day.) At 20 psi, the only engine component to worry about are...

    Turbo time!

What year is this replacement block? If you're gonna build any 2.2/2.5 turbo engine, you ought to use the best block available: the common block. It debuted for the 1989 model year, and they are quite plentiful--you've got one in the LeBaron, for example. ;) Since we're on the subject: the 2.5...
