    Proud father moments

No pics (cuz that's how I roll), but I drove down to Phoenix for an autocross event this weekend...my son and I both drove my car. It was a "school" deal so we both had instructors helping us....he learned faster/better than me apparently, since he beat my best time by nearly a second. He's...

Landed in sand....doesn't get too much smoother. 😎

Towing a car hauler (Jeep) with a slide-in camper

Not quite the same as what I have. Mine have a latch at one end of the square tube. Still, I'm sure you can shorten the tube if you want, just don't know if you can go short enough to work or not. 🙂

Towing a car hauler (Jeep) with a slide-in camper

If they're the ones I'm thinking of (Fastgun) they're pretty easy to shorten. They're just made from square tube. I cut the top off, shortened the tube, welded back together. Obviously limited by how long the threaded hook part is....

    Today I Want This....

Skipped Link he is, and he has an awesome build thread over on Irate4x4, titled "Midnight Panic". I suggest checking it out, unless you want to continue feeling adequate about your fab skillz. :)

    STAG does great work!

This is not a request for work, nor is it an offer. Just a review. :) I posted a while ago asking about concrete lift options, since my front walk was sunken and uneven. @STAG mentioned he didn't like the idea of lifting, he'd prefer to remove and reinstall. Long story short, that's what I...

    The Rubi Q Build

Each tooth is longer, but it's also moving faster. Think of it in degrees of rotation.... if the teeth and the gaps are evenly spaced, you will have 60° of rotation per tooth no matter how large or small the ring is.

    The Rubi Q Build

The size of your tone ring won't affect the speed shown. 3 teeth is 3 teeth no matter what diameter it is.

    Single axle trailer refreshing

That's new to me. I've seen one end of the spring sliding on the frame, just kinda "trapped" by a bolt....but not like your janky setup. 😅

    Your Pic of The Day

4x4 doesn't seem as slam-able as other options....but FAR better in snow. 🙂

    Budget Plasma Cutter Suggestions

My only input goes against your intent here....but I used to have a cheap Parker plasma cutter. I got a Hypertherm later, and there is no comparison at all. But, that's not a $200 plaz. 🤷‍♂️

Trip Report Fall Colors Tour - San Juans & DSNGR

I've been told you can split the tickets with someone else. Half your group rides one direction and drives back, the other half reverses that.

    Super duty questions

Super Duty axles use different diff covers at minimum. They also have different axle seals, but I'm not 100% sure you can't use the older-style seal in the newer housing.

    Project: Cheap! But still OK.

I've decided this thing needs to drive on it's own-- either to help my motivation to work on it, or to make it easier to sell to the person who's going to finish it. ;) So I set the pinion angle for a single-ujoint driveshaft, and visited GRS to get the stocker shortened and stuff. Turns out...
