All of the Currie HP 9” were just the 8.8 gears and they only ever built them with 31 spline carriers. Although I know I have built a few that had ARBs in them. With that being said every one of those third members came with to me with busted gears….. I say run LP 9” thirds flipped upside down...

The stock breather is in the pump behind the torque converter and if you put the vehicle on any real angle it just PUKES everywhere. So we drill and tap the top of the case for a new vent about halfway between the bell housing and tail housing.
