    ZJ/JK Rubicon 44 build.

Thanks for the comments... As far as upgrading the suspension, not only did I WANT long arms, but they made it easier to do this swap. Welding on a truss just seems SO much easier than lining up the OEM style upper tabs, and a track bar tab... I'm hoping to get to spend some time on it sunday.

    ZJ/JK Rubicon 44 build.

Day 4.1 A Tie Rod. WOW. I picked up my steering from the dealership. I went with OEM JK stuff, and at this point I'm gad I did. The TREs are MUCH bigger than the stock ZJ stuff, probably not one ton, but I'm on 33's with Dana 44s... I need to pull my pitman arm and ream it out (but going with...

    Don't drop that beryllium hemisphere....

Spencer, you find the most obscure random stuff... and I mean that as a compliment. This may be the most obscure thing I've ever seen.

    Tattoo's

Dom, assuming that's really you, you've dropped a few pounds? your chin looks more single than I remember it when we met... wish I could say the same. I'll be getting new ink later this month.

    ZJ/JK Rubicon 44 build.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I ordered the steering today, and I'll pick it up tomorrow. Does anyone have a knuckle reamer I can rent? I need to enlarge my pitman arm's hole for the KJ steering. I'll have to shorten the drag link, the TRE on the drag link, and the adjuster to make it...

Grand or Cherokee: pros and cons

I love my Niner... probably in a strange unhealthy way. That said, if I had to start all over, I'd to an XJ. Cheaper and a tad easier for most things. Will a coil setup droop more than leafs? A little bit. Is droop really all that cool? I don't think so these days.

    ZJ/JK Rubicon 44 build.

Day 3: Progress The front axle is in. I started by setting up the axle where the spring buckets were dead level. I had already scribed where the coil buckets needed to sit, so I checked out the shock perches. They finally got smart on the JK... no bar pins. I figured if I need to move...

    ZJ/JK Rubicon 44 build.

Day2: One little Victory. Not too much to report from Day 2. I was able to retrieve the 15mm impact socket out of the unibody tube. I also got the old D30 further broken down. I pulled the shafts and unit bearings to give to a friend of mine as spares. I measured out the center of the...

    ZJ/JK Rubicon 44 build.

I've seen a few more ZJs popping up here, so I figured I'd share. A few of you have met me, but I haven't wheeled with very many people here, cause my rig has been chronically broken. I've finally decided to do something about that. I've been close to a few different option, but I decided to...

    Rusty's long-arms, opinions?

I did a TON of research and went with Claytons. T&T's setup is awesome, but you can't beat clayton's warranty.

    Rusty's long-arms, opinions?

I don't know of anyone breaking their arms, but plenty of people have broken their brackets.

    JK axle steering options

I'm about to swap a set of JK Rubicon axles into my 98 ZJ Grand Cherokee. I have almost all of the parts together, except the steering. I know I should really wait till I have the axle mounted and centered to measure for the drag link, and thats what I plan to do, but my question is more of...

Which Jeep do I use to tow the tent trailer?

    The one with more wheelbase.
  17. Z

    Mmmmm...

The comedy in that it that on a Toyota, orange peel is a sign of a repaint. On a jeep or dodge, NOT having orange peel is a sign of a repaint.

    Mmmmm...

I would say it has to be close to impossible to detect orange peel in a cell phone pic.
