    Transfer Case Opinions

I vote Atlas or stack. New parts, better technology, easier to shift, twin sticks, extra ranges....Is there really a question? Just do it!

    Ford/Sterling/Visteon 10.5"

You can use 10.25 gears as well. Most lockers are available, ARB, Detroit, lunchbox, etc. I have an ARB I'll sell you for $100, but it needs about $200-$300 in parts to fix it:p Here's a decent article on them...

Be careful making blanket statements....There are a few here that will disagree with you, and can back it up.

    brake problems on a tj

If the rear is disk they need A LOT more volume then the stock MC has. Compare the calipers....Look for a MC from a superduty with rear disks. A residual valve my help, but with the big calipers in the rear, an new MC is the only real good solution....

    Mbryson's Toy Hauler ramblings

Except for having the tow rig to drive around. (I had a motorhome and sold it.) Especially if your rig is not street legal, a motorhome is not fun....It sucks to have to pack everything up to drive into town for dinner. Motor homes also cost more every year to keep up and license than a trailer...

    brake problems on a tj

Is the rear still drum brake? It is likely that you need a mc with more volume. The calipers on that 60 and even the wheel cylinders on the 10.25 are a great deal bigger than what the jeep had stock and require more volume. Cheapest fix would be to adapt a mc from a 3/4-1ton Ford truck....

To Rock or not to Rock that is the ?

RW's are big, heavy, ugly and kill your clearance under the axle....I am not sure of the exact #'s but I would bet your 14b has more clearance with your 44's than a RW would have with 47's....I KNOW it does under the tubes. Rear stear is ok, but even the majority of comp guys went away from...

    U joint ?

1350 and 1410 are the same trunion/cap size, it is just the size of the cross that is bigger. Thus 1410 gives you more angle before binding, but not a great deal more strength. I run 1410 at the tcase and 1350 at the axle , just so I don't hit them as much. If the rear was HP I would run a 1410...

Did you pull the dist. out? If so, could it be a tooth off? A cracked or wet dist cap can also cause a miss. X2 on the cps....non dealers ones are POS's. BUT I have never had a renix that would run with a bad cps. When they are bad it will not fire at all.
