Jeep Advise on potential XJ purchase

Well we went out and test drove that '01 this morning. My wife hated it. She thought the truck was fine untill she drove it. Said it was way too cramped feeling and she would rather spend money fixing our Trooper. Thanks for all the info though.

Jeep Advise on potential XJ purchase

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I don't have patience. My Trooper is dying a quick death and I need to replace it quickly. Im going to look at the one for sale here this morning. I also prefer it to have some work done to it already (lift, tires, gears) if I don't buy one already set up the...

Jeep Advise on potential XJ purchase

I can't find a clean, low miles XJ for less than $4500. The 95 kind of expensive. http://www.ksl.com/auto/listing/568756?ad_cid=9 What's wrong with the 01 that's for sale here? Just has more emissions crap? What's the bad head issue?

Jeep Advise on potential XJ purchase

I'm looking at possibly getting an XJ in the $5000 range. I've never owned a Jeep and don't know what to watch out for. Any pointers on things to look for? Things to avoid? How about the 2001 that's for sale on the. forum? Any info will be greatly appreciated. I guess I should also add...

    New gate up Butterfield.

The pass is NOT gated. You can still go down Middle Canyon. The gate is just beyond the turn where you start climbing up toward the pit. Kennecott has its property very well marked with signs and K-rails all the way up the canyon, but there aren't any signs or rails up to the overlook so I can't...

    New gate up Butterfield.

We went up Butterfield today to try and see the slide. A couple hundred yards past the turn at the pass there is a new gate blocking the road. I didn't see any "no trespassing" signs, so you can probably still hike the rest of the way. Just sucks, I'm sure that now the gate is there it will...

How do I get over my fear of touching live fish?

I third the hemostats. Long and skinny so you can see what your doing. I always use the hooks with the pre-attached leader, the eye on the hook is bent toward the hook (maybe all hooks are this way). That helps when you can't see the end of the hook you can still tell which direction it's...

    Isuzu SAS conversion?

Call Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters for OME springs. I have the 919's but wish I had gotten the 929's. I've never heard of a need to beef up the t-case cross member. Independent4x.com sells beefed up tie rods and other Isuzu off-road parts.

    Isuzu SAS conversion?

Check out planetisuzoo.com for everything you need to know. I'm not sure about your year but If it's the same as the 98+ you can get 33's on it with just a set of OME springs and a torsion bar crank. The only options for lockers are ARB or an Aussie.

    General Tech Alignment shop

I took the Trooper into Russ' Alignment. It's just off 2100 on Redwood across from the post office (they align all the mail trucks too). They make appointments but are generally a few weeks out. If you can drop it for the day they will get you in sooner.
