    Condensation. Short trips will cause this because the engine won't heat up long enough to evaporate the moisture out of the system. Also check the PCV system.

    Don't get a gas bottle, they're too expensive. Just get the cheapest 120v welder you can find, run flux core, and hate it :)

    How would new springs fix a slipping lockrite? Torque applied to the carrier (crosspin) against the 2 inner locker pieces is what engages the locker. If the locker is slipping isn't it already toast? the springs just sort of set the engagement point with a small preload.
