How did you get interested in 4wheeling?

In high school, I had a '51 flattie. Should have never sold it. almost 20 years later, I finally have the financial ability to purchase another jeep. Of course, I had no idea that it would become a huge money pit that eats my paycheck before I even get a chance to see the amount of the check! :D

Won't take you too long before the addiction takes over, and you will begin to care less and less how it looks, and more and more how it works. Soon it will look like grocerygetter's ride!! welcome!!

    Starting Problem

When it is warm, have you actually pulled a plug cap and checked the spark? Also check your timing. do a compression test when its hot and when its cold. compare the two. If you find low compression, do a leak down test in the cylinders both hot and cold. look for leaky valves or rings...

    Look what BlackSheep found today!!

thanks, but fabbing something up is gonna cost me a lot less than what I would spend buying something from rockkrawler. Especially since this axle's life is limited only by my ability to get the 44s built up (and those are limited by my $$)

    Look what BlackSheep found today!!

The whole reason I bought the trailer. I didn't necessarily want to make it a trailer queen, but when stuff like this happens, I am very glad it is.

    Look what BlackSheep found today!!

Yep, that's right, Desert Mountain claims a second wound on this victim. Somewhere along the way, I broke my lower front p-side control arm mount. What a Bi#ch!! Looking for suggestions on how to most effectively repair. should I cut both front lowers off and have new mounts welded on...

    Need a Tj lift??/

For a bolt on, direct buy, I say go with Rubicon Express 4.5" or 5.5" Xtreme duty long arm kit. A bit pricey ($2200-$2300 not including shocks), but excellent lift If you're on a budget, talk to SukaB (on this board). He has a long arm kit that isn't terribly expensive.

6 lug wheel spacers (3" preferably)

Yeah, after reading jamesgeoligist's post, looks like I need to brush up on my terms a bit more. It makes sense that backspacing and inset/outset/offset would be seperate measurements.

6 lug wheel spacers (3" preferably)

Jeremy, got to argue this point with you. The backspacing is typically measured from the center of the wheel. For truck (like you drive for work) it is called inset or outset. I would say that he has 2.5" outset (the center of the tire is out 2.5" from the wheel mounting surface.
