    Mine eyes

Same here. My $100 HF Portband has been going strong for close to a decade now. The only problem I’ve had was the low/high switch failed early on. I just bypassed the switch to low speed and never had an issue. I only run Milwaukee blades because they last forever.

Dog Cemetery at Lookout Pass along the PET

I started going there in the late 60’s to deer hunt, so we’d stop every time in. The story from the old timers then was Libby had killed everything buried there. If that’s true or old sheep herders bullshiting I don’t know. It’s on the south side of the trail, across from where the trees and...

    Mine eyes

As strange as this sounds, it does indeed work. I have a strong pick up magnet I keep in the medicine cabinet for such emergencies. If you can get it out as soon as you feel it, there’s no die grinding to the eye required. That’s only needed after a day or two, and rust settles in. I’ve had one...

    Roofing supplies

Harrington & Co, right next door to SSS Steel, if I remember correctly. 7th west and 1900ish south.

General Tech What did you work on Today?

While all you city folks are burning everything, I finished the box. It’s getting pretty full in there, but my garage is getting pretty empty. I’d call that a win!

RZR Turbo S or Turbo S velocity

Both machines will serve you well. The best part about going Polaris is all the aftermarket parts that are available for them. I believe in the long run the Polaris is a bit cheaper to keep, but they’re all black holes to toss your wallet down. My advise would be don’t add any dealer offered...

    SpaceX Dragon Crew Launch

I really wish the media would stop referring to the astronauts as “Bob & Doug”. I can’t help but giggle every time I hear that.

    Stucco Work?

My guess would be a soft coating. Mine is about 3/8” thick, and as hard as concrete. A tap with a hammer will tell you for sure.

    Stucco Work?

Having foam behind it doesn’t really mean it’s soft. Hit the damaged area with a hammer, you’ll know for sure. Mine is hard with a foam backing (I know, that’s what she said). You guys really need to post up when you find a guy willing to do small jobs like this. I struggled for a couple of...

    House Hunt/Future Projects Thread

You oriental types are always showing off your superior chemistry knowledge! 🙂 It’s almost always the clamps that fail on that type of system, I’m curious what Skippy has to say about the repairs as well. It would be awesome if they replaced all of the piping!

    House Hunt/Future Projects Thread

I think you’re mistaken. Since they haven’t used lead (PB) in plumbing since the 40’s, and I’ve only seen it once on drain piping, I think he meant Polybutylene.

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Marc, just for reference since our lots are similar sized. You’ll probably be money ahead just to have it delivered. My yard took one end dump semi, and four ten wheelers of gravel and boulders to cover. That’s a lot of trips with a dump trailer. You’ll probably need quite a bit less than I did...

    Tell me about your shop

Cost, plain and simple. Think about it. How big is the opening on your quick connects? 1/2” will flow way more than your compressor is capable of. I like copper because it’s corrosion resistant, and is for the most part self supporting so you don’t have plastic hoses drooping all over. I prefer...

    Tell me about your shop

Use 1/2” copper with soldered joints, and you’ll never have an issue. I won’t use anything else, it’s a fail proof lifetime way of doing things, and I hate doing things like that twice.

    High School TJ build

Eric, you can make the stock TJ carrier work just fine. Have that old guy you live with call me and I’ll explain to him how I built my last couple of Jeeps.

Any piano tuners on the board?

I’m sure you already know this. You can tuna fish, but you can’t tune a piano.

That looks pretty trashy, sorry pet peeve of mine. When you hang the TV’ s in the new place, spend an extra hour to do it right!

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I officially have a concrete box. I’ve loaded it up with maybe 1/3 of what’s going to be in there, but I’m running low on room quickly

    Flatty addiction - 1953 Willys CJ3B with a V8

I’m with Bart on the dislike of the high hoods. I’m also not a fan of the Ford flathead, but they do score a 10 on the cool looks. If you want to improve dependability, convert it over to a conventional 12V system. In addition, I’m running the Petronics electronic ignition. Both upgrades are...
