General Tech What did you work on Today?

I’m trying to keep up with the Bryson’s. I finally broke ground on a much needed storage shed this week. Pouring and finishing 2 yards concrete seriously kicked my ass though.

    Help with my yardscaping plans?

I’ve been waiting for a progress update because they broke ground across the street from me on this one the same week you did, so I’ve been trying to compare. Looks like your builder is kicking ass on the builders around here.

My Fox shocks were doing this as well. After much trouble shooting and ruling everything else out as you have done, I decided to rebuild the shocks. Upon disassembly I discovered one shock had lost its nitrogen charge. Without that charge it allowed the gas piston to bang against the stop with...

They will fog up again in just a couple of months. Waxing them every couple of weeks can help slow down the fogging

    Help with my yardscaping plans?

BTW, make sure your new homeowners insurance knows there’s a hydrant on the property. It’ll save you a few bucks, at least in my case it did.

    Help with my yardscaping plans?

Marc, FWIW. All my garages have been 8’ doors and I’ve owned some pretty tall trucks. I’ve never needed any taller doors. Plus, you’ll be able to get the openers for a lot less money than the 10’ openers. On the subject of openers, steer clear of the Ryobi brand. I love all of the features, and...

    4.0 starter troubles

I was just going to reply in your case it’s on the clutch linkage, but it sounds like you’ve found the issue. If it were me I’d just by pass the switch permanently. If other people are driving you Jeep, that’s probably a bad idea though.

    Enclosed Trailer discussion

I went with the Wells Cargo Silver Sport series trailer, 26' long. Smooth sides, all aluminum construction, two 5000# torsion axles with brakes on both. The door is 7'7" wide, with a curbside door of 36". I bought it new, and bare bones on the inside. I insulated the ceiling and walls with 1 1/2"...

I decided to join the fun at the Route 66 Street Drags. My first run was around 9am. The car was back in the trailer before 10.

Need help with superwinch control socket pin

What Carl said. I had the same type of failure on an old Ramsey winch. I purchased a cheap round 4 pin trailer wiring connector set, and simply replaced both ends. It worked flawlessly.

    JK hardtop headliner

I did mine with the top on, it’s super easy. You’ll just need a heated garage to do it in, it not something you’d want to attempt in the driveway this time of year there (it’s 65* here at the moment).

    JK hardtop headliner

I used the Hot Head liner. One of the best mods I ever did on my JK, no complaints

    Any GM peeps here?

You can try the old starting fluid method. They usually fail at 100K miles. I replaced mine at 120K. I also had a weak fuel pressure regulator, so I replaced them both.

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I’ve been the last couple of weeks trying to teach an old dog even older tricks. I’m pretty engine savvy, but this is the first flatly (not a jeep, for you kids) that I’ve ever worked on. It’s been a learning curve, to say the least.
