    Board and Train Dog Trainers

Nice. We have a mini red heeler, and that dog can be a territorial nutjob, especially when "protecting" our other dog from the ones outside the fence. Interacting with him, throwing the ball and other toys seems to make a big difference.

    1992 Land Rover Defender 110

They did. It was called the Evoque, and anyone who looks gets offended. Although, with the right drivetrain, some big tires, radically cut fenders, and long travel suspension it'd be a neat little desert blaster.

    1992 Land Rover Defender 110

That does look awesome. Did these come with an automatic? Was it something ok or a complete slushbox? My wife can't drive a manual anymore, but if something like this were to be opened up as an option I'd probably have to go that route.

    Branded titles- worth the risk?

The theme here seems to be do your homework, search the VIN and see what the damage actually was, go as hands on as you can with the vehicle to asses the repairs.

    Branded titles- worth the risk?

Sometimes it doesn't take a whole lot to total a car. I have a 91 Alfa Romeo 164 that I've been fighting with the insurance company over since August. I was driving along in the middle lane, and their client pulled out of a parking lot straight into my lane. I mostly missed the guy, but hit...

Where in the World will he go?

Sweet. The former Soviet Bloc countries are on my list for wandering around at some point in the future.

    4x4/SAS Conversion on my OBS

I did my 84 F250, it was a nice upgrade. Those trucks really do need the track bar though, I built mine without but the steering would get pretty vague at times. If you'd rather just swap to a 4x4 trans, I'm kinda sorta looking for a 2wd E4OD that'll bolt up behind an IDI to throw in my 71...

    DANA 80 front axle build

Ya know, the other day I was looking for the technical definition of overkill, and here you've built it. I can't believe how much those Dodges beat D60s. I've lost count of how many ball joints I've had to do on completely stock trucks.

Need help with Ford 5.4 misfire

I believe you need a long 14mm adapter, the threads are way down in there. I had to get a whole set to get the adapter I needed on short notice, but for the record the Mityvac digital gauge is awesome. It was more than my wife wanted me to spend at the time, but has paid for itself being able...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

If you have a hub, yes kinda except the bearings won't have anything keeping dirt out. If it's a unit hub with a nut, no, the nut keeps the bearings together. I have in the past pulled the inner and put an expansion plug in the end of the tube, while keeping the outer in place to hold it all...

Topic of Discussion The Mahindra Roxor thread

As far as I understand they don't meet on road emissions or safety standards so can't be officially street legal. Having said that, I can see how one might be useful for a restoration on an older CJ with severe rot issues. There are a lot of people who would not be disturbed by a straight up...

Where in the World will he go?

The new contact allowances look like an interesting step. I have to wonder if this will help or hurt turnover rates, and homesickness.

Machine work, milling... anyone here do it?

I need to get my mini mill here. It's languishing in storage in Oregon.

    Off road games

I haven't been able to get out in a while, and it'll be a bit before my Courier is trail ready, so in the meantime I've been looking at off road simulator games. Years back I had the Cabela's Off Road Adventure series. The first two were a bit lame, the third was quite promising but kept...

    Jeep Renegade thoughts?

Biggest source of hatred on those little fwd Jeeps is the underpowered engine paired with a CVT. That seems to not have the CVT available, though, so that's a bit of a plus.

Shop / Tools Opportunity to learn/experience welding... Episode 1

Nice. Good spacing, but a little light on filler. One trick I like to use as well is to create the puddle on the lower piece, and "wash" it up onto the higher one. Basically, feed in the filler, and then angle the puddle to the higher piece. It gives a much smoother bead appearance, and...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Injectors can be an issue on those, they're pretty straightforward to swap cylinder to cylinder to check for issues.

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Make sure to do coil boots and torque the plugs to 15ft/lbs. I fought a misfire and pinging on an Expedition, the "senior tech" had just done a tune up two weeks ago, so the shop owner didn't want me wasting time looking at the plugs. Well, six hours of diagnosing chasing everything else, I...
