I'm good to go, unless I find myself in the "wifey blindsided me" category. :D

Haha, sorry. Tentative plan is Saturday, February 1st. Meet 9:30ish at the Maverik in Eagle Mtn. Gas up and go.

Not for another week - the morning of Saturday, Feb 1st.

Northern Utah Five Mile on February 1st

And for those of us going out in relatively tame rigs that we don't want to beat up too bad, what can we expect? "Snakes" is actually two trails, Rattlesnake at bottom and Constrictor at top, correct?

Does this seem strange? (possible abandoned vehicle)

Welcome! I haven't been on here long but quickly understood, as you said, that there are a lot of awesome people on the board. Cheers -

Northern Utah Five Mile on February 1st

I'll maybe have a friend or two in my rig, but the wife said no. Imagine that, a 7-month pregnant wife not wanting to go.... :D

Northern Utah Five Mile on February 1st

I've never been out there Tonkaman, so I wasn't anticipating anything hard - I'm not set up for hardcore rock running (ie Snakes)... I'd prefer to have sliders/skids before I do that! BUT that isn't to say that with as many as we have going someone won't want to. I'm going more to explore some...

Northern Utah Five Mile on February 1st

Yeah, I'd want to do earlier too. Apparently we're finishing off the nursery Saturday afternoon (ie I'm assembling a crib...) Yay? What are we thinking? Meet up about 9:30 or so at a gas station? There's a Maverik out there if memory serves. If somewhere better... Glad we'll have at...

    the new red dawn

I'm glad I waited to see this when it popped on Netflix.... No way paying full theater price would have been worth it. Well, for the popcorn maybe.

    Walter Mitty

My wife and I really enjoyed it. A funny feel-good story and, as others mentioned, amazing cinematography.

Does this seem strange? (possible abandoned vehicle)

Sad stuff. Growing up (Idaho) if you ever found a broken-down rig you'd see notes under wipers offering help, tips, etc. It was very rare to see or hear of a rig being parted on a hillside. Not sure how people can think that destruction and theft are acceptable... Props to all those that...

Northern Utah Five Mile on February 1st

Just tossed up a tentative list on the first post on this thread - let me know if you want to be added removed. I know for me just having my name down and seeing it (even two weeks out) makes it more likely for me to end up going! What time did we want to shoot to be out there? Of those that...

Tax return time, also known as actual Christmas

DINK here too, though not self-empoyed. Don't mind it, really... Next year we'll have Baby Boy Williams and a return! ;)

Northern Utah Five Mile on February 1st

Is mud a big deterrant? I know that a lot don't like it, but I don't mind. If muddy does it severely limit what you can do out there? Having never been, what are your thoughts?

    DIY clear coat repair?

No, you take it to a guy named Sam and he fixes it. All Sams, for whatever reason we've yet to discover, can do this.
