Cure for spring fever: Take two Jeeps and call me in Moab.

We almost made it but ended up using the winches rather than push it. It was very slick with all of the dirt on it and we probably should have aired down more.

Cure for spring fever: Take two Jeeps and call me in Moab.

My son had a bad case of spring fever so he headed down to Moab last Thursday grabbed our favorite camp site then ran a few trails to test out his new high steer. We joined him that evening with the Commando since he wanted to mark off one of the hard trails we hadn't done yet. In the morning we...

Cheap tricks in off-roading you've learned along the way...

The bar of soap idea works well on gas tank leaks. It got us home from Moab late on a Saturday night. I covered the soap with duct tape to keep the water from washing it off.

I have a pair of the YJ bumperettes at home that I could measure tonight. In fact you can have them for a pattern if you want.

my little red 93 xj build

Let me check for sure but I think I have a pump but the return line plastic fitting is busted off. If you have a spare reservoir it could be swapped on.

    Looking for a TH350/700r4/TH400 - NP208 adapter

I have some too, I have 700R4 to 208, TH400 to NP205, and possibly TH400 to 241. The TH400 bolt pattern is different than the th350/700r4.

    let's talk canvas tents

All of the ones we have are sturdy and hold up well. The sunshade unit without a floor is the only one we have had any issues with. My son in law (PolarXJ) has one of the modular units where you can add small sections to it and it holds up to the wind very well.

    let's talk canvas tents

We have six Springbars, the two oldest are 33-35 years old and still work great. We like to go fishing up to the Gorge and the wind up there will take out any tent that isn't up to it. When the entire family is up there it looks like a Kirkhams exhibit since we have learned what holds up best...

I have several antennaes. I may even have some 3.55 gears. I don't think 91 XJs had the vacuum disconnect.

    TJ Back Seat Seant belts.

There is a TJ at the tear a part in SLC. It had the seat belts in it but I don't remember for sure if it had the part you need.

Quick and easy (and good) camping meals

We make tinfoil dinners and cook them at home, freeze them and put them in the cooler, then just throw them on the fire at camp till warm. No pans to clean up at all.

What's your favorite thing about your rig?

My rigs: The stock ones: 02 WJ comfy, lots of power, good mileage, great for long trips. 85 K30 will tow anything, 502 flies up the hills and drives the new truck drivers crazy when I pass them towing a boat, and it helps support the oil companies. The hand made ones: 73 Commando goes...

Vehicle pranks - I always need new ideas!

My brother replaced a friends coil to distributor wire with a piece of small black plastic garden drip hose with plug caps on each end. He was sure it wouldn't run but it did, just not very well. The old auto bombs we used to be able to buy in the 70s were a lot of fun.
