The KTM front fender looks good on there.

Whoa, that's a lot of sand. :( It will make for a real nice bike when Paul's done though.

    The KTM 4CS fork thread...

Update... So, in the past 2 weeks I've ridden around St. George and southern Nevada. I did what I felt was "playing it safe" by having '13 CC forks tuned rather than go down the 4CS road, and I love my suspension now. This isn't to say that having the 4CS done properly can't yield the same...

3rd Annual St. George Winter Riding Trip

Great trip with good friends, I just wished I took some pictures! I didn't even bring the gopro. :( With the exception of the Warner Valley stuff, all of it was new trails to me, and that was really cool. Things I learned from this trip... Tyson has gotten fast, like really fast. Stratton...

3rd Annual St. George Winter Riding Trip

"Launched" is an understatement. Imagine being in a simple wash with just a few rocks here and there. Some guy wheelies off one of those rocks, then whiskey throttles his bike up the side of a rock wall for no apparent reason. That's pretty much how it went down... or up and down, violently. :)

3rd Annual St. George Winter Riding Trip

Just bring your bike even if its not done. We all have extra parts, supplies, and tools we can bring (especially for a 300) and there's always RMATV in town. I may have issues with work as well, but would still come down for Friday and Saturday. Even if you can only make it for Saturday, its...

3rd Annual St. George Winter Riding Trip

I looked again, and this new kit is offered by Race Tech. However, it looks and sounds just like the MXtech product. Only the leg with the air chamber gets a spring.

    The KTM 4CS fork thread...

The work that Paul is having done will be the most beneficial to those of you getting new KTMs/Huskys in the future. I'm simply going the old school route and plan on transferring my '13 forks to my next bike KTM or Husky (regardless of axle size changes). I saw Paul's sad, leg-less bike there...

3rd Annual St. George Winter Riding Trip

James, this is off topic a bit, but did you read about the Showa SFF conversion kit to return it to a normal CC spring fork? Comes with everything but springs for $500. Saw it in the latest Motocross magazine.

    The KTM 4CS fork thread...

Cool, I'll be dropping off my stuff tomorrow or Thursday. I better call him and make sure he's there (New Year's eve and all...). So, you going with the mxtech huck valves? That's what my plan is, but just the regular CC ones. I don't think that's necessarily the direction Jesse wanted to go...

    The KTM 4CS fork thread...

I'm gonna have him revalve these CC forks and see what he says about a huck/cone valve setup. I talked to him about 4cs options awhile back, but he didn't sound like he had worked with them much at that time, so I passed.

    The KTM 4CS fork thread...

After more than a year of complaining about my forks, I'm finally doing something about my 4CS dilemma. To be fair, Notch Peak did a re-valve that helped a little. About 6 months ago I reduced the spring rate and fluid level, which also helped a little. However, finding a permanent solution...

The new 1984 IT490 build thread...

Sorry for the delayed response! Been busy riding bikes that run, so it was kicked on the backburner until now. More progress will be made starting in a couple weeks. The plan is to take it out riding on a NV. trip in January.

    Clutch actuator/pushrod issue...

"What you have to do is back off the pressure plate's (#7 in the chart link above) 6 bolts so the internal shaft (#22) and ball can go to the "clutch plates open" position. This may require taking the bolts out, springs and pressure plate off, gaffer tape the plates from falling out and tilting...

    Clutch actuator/pushrod issue...

I've never had to remove and re-install a clutch actuator before, but I'm noticing that its not engaging the clutch now. Of course, it has to be clocked in the correct position otherwise it wouldn't go all the way inside. Its on that old IT490 I'm working on, but the basic design is no...
