    Kids dirt bike options??

Well I'll be damned... I don't remember it working. That's good news!

    Kids dirt bike options??

I had a TTR50 at one time. Great little bikes with only 2 issues (however, these shouldn't keep you from buying one). 1. Be prepared if the battery ever dies, since push starting is not an option. Nothing more disappointing to a kid than a bike that won't start. 2. For what I assume are...

    The upcoming moto ride/quick report.

If anyone wants to meet up in AF Canyon tomorrow (Wednesday), let me know. I'd be coming from the Heber side and can meet up wherever.

    Rip to Cabo

Yep, maybe pick up an older carb'd 450 and sell when back home.

    Rip to Cabo

I'd be down! We'd wanna buy some 4 strokes though.

    KTM 390 Adventure

Hmmm... something like this might get me interested in the adventure biking thing. I'll be staying tuned...

The new 1984 IT490 build thread...

Alright funny guy, I'm still waiting to see this mythical YZ490 you speak of... :handlebars:

Any experience with the Husky/ KTM 350s?

Sounds like a productive outing Stratton. Like Paul said, riding a 300 will be a bit strange at first, but you'll get used to it if that's what you end up choosing. Just think, no more valves to shim. :)

Any experience with the Husky/ KTM 350s?

So Stratton, did you ever get to ride that 350 last weekend?

The new 1984 IT490 build thread...

Thanks! I kinda like the old shock, so hopefully it will work ok. My brother remembers bottoming it out on everything too.

Those were great bikes! Here a pic of my '82, first year of the water cooled 80. That's right, white Levi's and a trucker hat. :greg:

The new 1984 IT490 build thread...

Threw the shock back on yesterday. Since the linkage and angle of the shock is quite a bit different than a modern bike, sag cannot be dialed-in using common numbers, so we'll just have to wing it for now and adjust as needed. I settled on a 5.4 rate spring, and although its a HUGE improvement...

    The upcoming moto ride/quick report.

Russ, there's a marathon planned for Provo canyon tomorrow. Not sure of the exact route, but you may want to warn your buddies.

    The KTM 4CS fork thread...

Ha! You weren't supposed to call me out on that. :). I'm not sure there is a serious alternative. Don't get me wrong, my 300 xc is a great bike. I just wish I would have bought a '13 instead of going through the year long 4cs learning curve (which continues). I actually spent most of today...

    The KTM 4CS fork thread...

^^^^ This. I'm a fan of KTMs, but good offroad suspension comes before e-start, hyd. clutches, brembo brakes, 6-speed trannies, etc... My next bike may be from a manufacturer that isn't trying to reinvent the wheel and has suspension that is simple, proven, and cheap to tune. Everything...

    The KTM 4CS fork thread...

. I've now had real world experience with Kreft stuff, so that would be the route I'd probably go.

    The KTM 4CS fork thread...

Yes and yes. I like what your buddy is doing at NOST. Also, I rode Chestnut's Husky with Kreft stuff and its the cat's PJs, and not even sprung for my weight.

Any experience with the Husky/ KTM 350s?

I may go if I get my suspension junk wrapped up. That way, you can ride a 300 with 4CS forks setup for a little guy. If not, stop by my place on your way through Heber to point and laugh. :)

    The KTM 4CS fork thread...

BTW, the procedure to change fork springs and fill with fluid isn't rocket science, but its way more involved that you'd think. 75% of the fluid goes through the bottom cap, the rest through the top, pressurize with an air chuck a few times, blah...blah...blah. :ugh:

    The KTM 4CS fork thread...

OK, resurrecting this thread... Last week I had the opportunity to actually ride a bike with 4CS forks that were awesome. Of course, "awesome" to one person may not be the same to others. What I mean is this... the bike I rode controllably soaked up baseball to grapefruit sized rocks and...
