So, how was the deer hunt?

Personally, got lots of hiking in beautiful country with perfect fall weather and spent time with my kids, dad, brother and cousin. For those reasons, hunt was a success. But, saw all of one buck who just kept doing little things to prevent me from getting off a shot. Anyone fare better?

    Hunting with large bore Rifles

Better off too big than too small. I am of the thought to shoot the largest you are comfortable with (both kick and carrying around.) That idea has some limits, as you also do not want to damage too much of the meat of course.

    Night time wildlife photography.

I am guessing museum display. Thinking in real life would go through the fence, not over it.

    tow rig tire help

my thought is why put 35-37" tires on a tow rig that won't see dirt? Not the best tow set up.

    My Kids Christmas list

sounds like good parenting to me! I think it is fantastic the kids are not hung up on the latest toy. I know it makes gift shopping hard, but keep up the good work!

    trailer brakes

As per distribution hitch etc, there are no problems what so ever with how the trailer tows. Been using it for several years, including locally, trips to Salina as well us the canyons above Grantsville with up to 5 horses in it and have never felt the list bit unsafe. The one and only point of...

    trailer brakes

That is exactly the point! As was mentioned in my original post, trailer brakes on the trailer work fine. I have not had any real hard emergency stops, but the truck stops about as well with the trailer as with out. The shop involved is in Tooele.

    trailer brakes

My thoughts exactly. I think it is a typical case of less-than-honest mechanic trying to scar a female customer into spending more money (nearly worked, too.) Considering the truck is rated for 12,000 pound towing capacity, it makes no sense the state would require an after-market add on to...

    trailer brakes

Question of legality, not smarts here. My wife took our horse trailer in for a little work, and the mechanic (who I already do not particularly trust) spent a lot of time telling her that if we do not add a trailer brake controller to the truck (Silverado 2500 Duramax) the UHP will pull us...

Good Place to live in Utah? Layton, Ogden, Farmington areas

I would agree with anywhere in Davis County being nice places to live (grew up on North Salt Lake) but traffic can be bad, as can the southern half the valley. Magna has some nice areas (have a staff member with home there for sale if you are interested). If working in Midvale, the southwest...

    Snowcats

Warning to the wise, they travel amazingly especially on at least semi-hard snow. But once stuck, you are in for a heck of a lot of work to get moving again. Have spent upwards of 12 hours taking turns on the shovels to get moving again. I can honestly see times in deep Utah powder when you...
