With a 5" lift and stock wheelbase, there really is not a good OD auto option. AOD/A4OD and 700r4 are all too long to have a good driveline length/angle with a 9" rear end....it may be OK if you had a HP 60 rear.... If you must have an overdrive auto, a chev 700R4 is probably the best option...

SR is about a 4. worse if it is wet.... Behind the Rocks, Pritchett, Moab Rim, Metal Masher etc are all fun trails for locked rigs....not too much risk of damage, depending on driving.

But....a superduty 50 will look just like a 60 and be 8 lug as well. Only way to know for sure is to pull the cover and get the # off the r/p or get the BM # off the axle tube. Or pull a shaft (inner)....35 spline=60. Edit 8 on 6.5 or 8 on 300 for the SD frt.

Was it all new parts or rebuilt? Sounds like either the center ball or pin of the CV are wasted.

As has been said....most likely not that great.... I would guess it is from a 64-66 ford 1/2 ton 2wd. Most likey a 30 spline and traclock/power lock. Just a clutch type posi.... More or less a 44 with a big ring an pinion.
