Pros and cons of Hummer beadlocks

Thanks for the info Harkinhoff. I really don't want to change the backspacing though. Part of the justification for buying them is that it will make the overall width acceptable. Darrin on here runs the wheels on a HP D44 with no spacer. He says he had to do a little caliper grinding, but...

Pros and cons of Hummer beadlocks

Killer deal on those wheels. I paid a little more than that. Yeah I looked up 66CJdean- I think I will get his rebar reinforcements. He has them for $6 each, so it's a no brainer. As for the negative scrub radius- If I understand it right, the Hummer H1 wheels should make it easier to...

Pros and cons of Hummer beadlocks

Not quite ready yet. Thanks for the offer! I bought some wheels tonight and will hopefully have it ready by the time they get here. At the very worst I will have to have them recentered to change the backspacing if I don't like the way it handles. Is your front axle really 11" (76-67") wider...

Pros and cons of Hummer beadlocks

Looking at running the Hummer H1 military style wheels on the CJ-3B. Looking for input from those of you running them. A quick list of what I know. 7" backspacing to make those wide axles narrow! 16.5" tires only 9" wide Fairly inexpensive as far as beadlocks go. (Don't know for sure where...

Sorry ..... no Larsen carnage. He didn't make it out of the driveway. He's been busy putting in a new yard and things just didn't fall into place for him. Maybe next time. Get that YJ done! I am for sure going to try and do the first weekend in October.Don't know about the rest of...

    HOGGS-busy with rescues in Moab

We had a great weekend down in the Moab area. Ran Pritchett and Behind the Rocks on Sat. Cliffhanger and Moab Rim on Sun. Sunday we were just starting up the trail and witnessed this young lady endoing her bike. The pics don't do it justice. Her ankle was bent at an angle that was never meant...

TH350 "Kickdown" (detent cable) install question

Has anybody had experience installing one of these?? In the trans I am using it is broken off. I ordered the new one and just took it out of the box. The end that goes into the transmission has me puzzled. The cable flatttens out to a small washer looking end with a very tiny hole in it. What...

    Went to the DMV today!!

Not sure about the flaps and flares thing. I'll probably put some removable flaps on it anyway. AS far as the good weather and daylight hours-- I thought about it and that's when it is driven 99% of the time anyway. I doubt the cops would hassle you too much if your out late in your flatty-...

    Dana 30 Camber Issue...

Could it be a problem with caster?? If the caster is wrong couldn't that exagerate the camber angle??
