    Went to the DMV today!!

I think so. Check for sure here http://www.dmv.utah.gov/licensespecialplates.html#vintagevehicle I'm thinking about getting a 66 frame and retitling the Bronco. One more year and it'll be good too. A lot of work for the privelige.

    Went to the DMV today!!

Like it says, I went down to the DMV to license the Willys. It's the first time I've had to go down there for about 8 years. (Use the Internet renewal usually) Had to go in person because we have never transferred the ownership from my Dad legally. Anyway week before Memorial is probably the...

Who drinks, who doesn't/ and state why.

Quit cold turkey about 6 years ago. I dunno entirely what happened. Went to the local bar with a co-worker (drunk) had a couple beers with him. Took a look around me and saw ALOT of people whose lives were being negatively impacted.(including mine) On my way home it was like a switch flipped...

My Jeep got totaled early this morning... pics

I don't get this. He totaled the Jeep, he should pay for the damages he has done. How is letting him off the hook going to help him??? Maybe next time he "borrows" somebody's car at a party he kills someone's family??? You screwed up giving him the keys, don't screw up again and make it easy for...

    EFI on a 1960's dauntless 225 V6- YES

I just had to post something about this. Last night we finally got it put together and fired up. It runs like a dream! xjhogg on here helped me (he did most of it). We used a port fuel injection manifiold, distributor and wiring harness off of a 1985 Buick Park Avenue, coupled that to some...

    hydraulic steering rams

I took your advive. Looks like it needs the 8" stroke. What's the best way to limit the travel? Would welding a sleeve to the end opposite the body work? Thanks for all the answers so far.

    hydraulic steering rams

Thanks Matt, I am just wanting it to assist the saginaw box, not a full hydro setup. Maybe it will work OK. I'm not looking for speed, just want to take some stress off of the steering gear and frame. I am running 40" tires and this size class is all new to me.

    hydraulic steering rams

I doubt that it needs that long of a stroke. Is it going to be a problem if it is too long???

    hydraulic steering rams

I was able to pick up a hydraulic ram for a good price yesterday. I was a little nervous about buying it because I don't know a whole about these setups. I thought it would be about the right size for my front mog axle. It turns out that it is 1.25" bore and a 10" stroke. I have been told that...

Are you a RADICAL anti-environmentalist? Then what are you?

Actually, I would consider myself an environmentalist. The "greenie" groups that you speak of are anti-people, anti-common sense, anti-use, and anti-freedom. The whole reason I started wheeling was to get to the great places that this state has to offer. Part of it in the 4x4 and part on foot...

    Plasma cutter questions

I bought the Hypertherm Powermax 1000. It's probably bigger than you are looking for, but I can comment that the longevity of their consumables is superb. If you use it much that may make a difference to you. Hypertherm claims that their consumables last 4 times as long as most. I have had very...

    emission question

I think that there is technically a part of the inspection law that says something like " if it came on it from the factory it has to be installed and working", but most inspectors won't make a fuss over something like a sway bar.

    Improving and passing emission question.

I have seen it melt the accelerator pump diaphragm out of an old carb. Best used wisely.

    Improving and passing emission question.

I used to be a Davis County emmisions inspector. The best thing you can do is to get the vehicle tuned and running properly. I look at it as a cheap way to analyze my engine. When you go to get your emmisions done you want to go to a place that is not very busy, or one of those quick emmisions...

    bending 2 X .250 DOM

I used my JD2 to bend my lower links. It worked ok when it was hot last august. I tried to bend the same material in December and I bent a pin and sheared off one of the mounting bolts. Just something to keep in mind.

    Moving a Shed

If it's a fairly flat run, you could put some pipe lengths under it and push wherever you need to. You just have to keep moving the back pipe to the front as you go. This is how I move my heavy shop stuff around.
