Need Help Getting a Bronco Started

Try replacing the ignition module, seems to be the weak link on older Ferds.

    anyone here do repos?

There's a reason there are repo companies and tow companies, they're two entirely different professions. There are a handfull of repo outfits that have all of the good accounts. Without a few of those good accounts, you'll never make a profit. The guys running the smaller title loan kind of...

So Bart, where's that 72 Blazer option? I've heard of people who actually wheel Chevy's. Could be a myth though...

    Home Electrical Question

One more item to check, before you start condeming the wire. Do you have 110 volts on BOTH connectors on the breaker (right on the breaker)? I've seen on more than one home, especially those built in the 70's using alunimum wire, where one leg can come loose at the meter and cause this...

Isn't 68 still the short front fendered version? If it is, good luck fitting any inline 6 in it.

    What would you do???

Keep the truck and trailer, you'll need those for whatever you do..... Then, get you a TJ or LJ. Use that as your daily, then build it as time and money permits. (at least that's what others I know have done) :D

    Ford 78 Bronco gear questions

Keep in mind the lower gear ratio you go, the weaker the pinion will get. If it's just your crawl ratio your concerned about, and you like the 4.56's otherwise, you may want to look into some transfer case changes.

    LJ Backspacing

I run an 8" wheel with 4" back spacing, keeps the tires under the flares enough to keep the law off my back. At full lock, my tires do contact my lower control arms just enough to rub the paint off, so I don't think you would want tp go much more than that.

    2010 rules

Ok, now we're on the same page. If a set of leafs can be replaced with coilovers with only a 10 point penalty, then I really think things are heading in a very bad direction. A quality set of coilovers and all the fab work involved will double (or more) the build costs of many of the stock class...

    2010 rules

Craig, I'm just using Braden's as an example since I did get a chance to give it a pretty good looking over. Based on the rules as I understand them, his XJ would meet all the requirements of stock, with the exception of the linked rear suspension. Since an XJ is coil/leaf from the factory, and...

    2010 rules

I too feel that a flat bed has an advantage over a stock, full bodied rig. Perhaps it's not a huge advantage, but I think it's enough to be a real benefit to anyone running one. I don't really have an issue with flat beds in Stock class as far as being more or less competitive goes, but the...

    2010 rules

I know it's probably too late now, but maybe most of these issues could be taken care of by having something like a "superstock" class? That might give something like Braden's XJ a place to fit in, and still allow the lesser built vehicles to be competitive amung similar rigs. It might also be a...

    Tail light blinkers

Yep. A simple trailer light converter will do the trick. Just think of your vehicle lights becomming the trailer lights. Easy job.
