    Yet another LONG build thread

Figured it's been a while, so I'd chime in. Not much has changed, other than the total cost. I'm up to around $7400 right now, and I still can't drive it! Body is now rust free, yippee!! :D Just starting on some mechanical items, braking, lift, ect... Wow, looking at the pics, I guess things...

    what should I do....

You don't need no stinkin welder, that's what JB is for. Disclaimer for the sense of humor impaired: Shawn, I'm joking. :D

    Which would you choose?

I'm probably one of Toyota's biggest fans, but I'd have to agree with Tacoma (I think I just threw up a little bit). While I think the Toyota may be a better built vehicle, buying from the original owner and knowing the history of the rig is worth a lot.

    Anyone here refinish wood floors?

Can't really help ya on a source, but I did my own and it really isn't that hard. I rented the sanders, then just went for it.

Why has your U4WDA membership expired?

I'd would have to vote "other" when mine expired. In my case, I had no idea it had expired. Every other group I belong to sends out renewal notices, but I guess U4 doesn't. Ok, maybe they do, I'm not sure. They somehow lost my address, so I wouldn't have gotten one even if they do send them...

How much tongue weight is enough?

Yes, 10% is the recomended minimum. However, the heavier the tounge, the better it will pull. I run more that the 10% just for this reason. Also, a set of air bags on the rear of your truck are a very good investment. Then you can run as heavy as you like, then level the truck back up with air.

    BBQ Thank You Thread

Anything you could do about the weather would be a blessing (that no wiper thing again).. Name tags might be a good idea. There was a time when I knew most of the people here, but it's gotten so big I know hardly anyone now. Well that, and I aint gettin any younger so the memory's...

    Jeep Cheap Cherokee Build

Now that's funny! I finally got to see this beast in Moab Saturday. All I can say is WOW! You do good work kid, it'll be an awesome rig when you're done. But, I'm still a little miffed your's left the garage before mine did.... :D Glad to hear that's all it was. From what I can see from the...

    Freaky Spring Weather

Way to jinx me. My ride has no heater, and the wipers leave a lot to be desired... ;) One way or another, we'll make it there though.

    2" PIPE bender.....anyone?

You sure about that being 2" pipe? Pipe is usually measured by ID, and I've never heard of 1 3/4" pipe. If it measures 2" OD, it's some type of tube I'd bet.

Anyone headed to Little Sahara this weekend that wants to tow my Jeep out there?

If you haven't left yet, you're not getting a camping spot....

    Spring over lift?

A spring over with your current 4" springs will be ridiculously high. A simple 1" body lift would give you the clearance you're looking for though...

Old School Rock Crawling '09- Pics and Vids

That one jump was the high point of the weekned, as far as I'm concerned! As far as the landing goes, that thing is pretty much a parts truck now....

EB, you did an excelent driving job and had one of the nicest EB's I've seen. I couldn't believe you were actually going to run it. I was happy to see it still looking sharp after the event.

    Event Results

His spotter was jinxing him...... :D Just bad luck. He had a couple nasty rolls, the last one cracked a couple welds. I think they thought it was better to park the rig at that time rather than risk serious damage or injury.

    1.25" od tube

If you can wait till I get back to work, I can grab you a piece of 1 1/4" EMT (conduit). If you're pressed for time, maybe Ho Depot sells it by the foot?
