Anytime the sub-floor has to be removed, and you really don't want to move all the cabinets.

I've got a die grinder with a 3" wood blade on it that does a sweet job. Plus, it's small enough to fit under the toe kick area at the front of the cabinet. You know where I am if you'd like to borrow it.

You're lucky. After driving the same truck for 7 years, which isn't tall by any stretch of the imagination, I got nabbed last month. Strange, I don't get harassed in a Jeep with 6" of lift though. Anyways, no warning for me. Ticket, and a $50 fine. (Did I mention WVC blows?) The flaps are cheap...

I'm a fan of the HF 4" grinders. Not that they're a quality tool or anything, but for far less than a quality grinder I can keep several on hand. Not having to change wheels in the middle of a project is a nice thing, and if something goes wrong just toss the thing. I have a couple Makita 4"...

I have a Senco and a Hitachi. Both are great. The Senco is much heavier duty, and has more power for working with harder woods. The Hitachi is lighter, and easier to fit into tight places. If I just needed one, I'd go with the Hitachi.
