Rock Crawling & Poll (New Thread)

Craig, maybe four classes are needed? Something like: Stock Stock Modified Modified Unlimited It seems like a lot of trail rigs now days would be what used to be considered modified. In my mind, I'm comparing something like Wayne's Jeep to Shawn's Cruiser. Both to me would be...

who is going to the U4WDA convention

I'll be heading south also. But alas, no room on my trailer as well. Think I'll be boarding in Mesquite though, since there's SO much nightlife in St. George. Hey Bart, wanna borrow the Samurai??? :D

    RV Tech: Generator discussion

Just for future reference, every internal combustion engine needs to be de-rated 1% for every 1000 feet of altitude. Doesn't really matter on the make, it's just a fact that the air is thinner up here. ;)

    RV Tech: Generator discussion

Hey Marc, a guy on here named Jeremy (JERSsomething) had a 4K onan RV gen set for sale. That's the way I'd go. Big enough to run your A/C, and electric start. If he doesn't still have it, there's plenty around from guy's parting out RV's. The downside is, they're pretty large and heavy. Good...

    New Motor Break-in

Pretty much what Greg said is spot on. A couple things I would add is when you first fire it up, let it idle for a minute while you roughly set the ignition timming as guickly as possible, then take it up to the 2000+ RPM. Also, run pure water for coolant. Once your 30 minute cam break in is...

    Extreme Scrambler Makeover

Hey Brett, while cleaning out the garage Saturday, I found a pigtail for your tail lights. Do you still need to hook those up? So Bart, you gonna spill the beans? Where's the Heep headed?

    Big Storm Tomorrow?

Why don't you toss on your best 80's polyester disco suit and do us a snow dance? :greg:

    Big Storm Tomorrow?

Yeah, we got hammered out this way. I just fired up "Jaws" (4WD skid steer snowblower), and cleaned up both inches..... What a let down.

    K & N

A simple used oil analysis would easily put an end to this debate. Personally, I dont like the K&N's because I'm a lazy buggar. I'd much rather just toss out some paper than spend my time cleaning and oiling some overpriced cotton ball.

Yet more evidence that technology makes our lives better

I'll hold off till they come out with the model that mows the lawn as well, then they'll be onto something! (especially if it has the optional Jeep washing attachment)

    4.56 or 4.88

4.88's and 35's on my daily driver LJ with the AOD. I like it. Ended up being slightly lower than stock (4.11) gearing which helps in the power department, but not so low that I can't maintain 75 mph all day if need be.
