I would think that would make the spring very weak. The hole you're using now would end up being very near the edge of yor pearch. I would think that axle wrap would snapp that puppy in a heartbeat. You could redrill your pearch, and get about half that 3" though.

The MTR is the best tire I've run on rocks (so far), but dont underestimate the tried and true BFG AT. Yes, they suck in the mud, but they wear terrific, are fairly cheap, do a good job on the rocks, and are hard to beat on slickrock if you're thinking Moab wheeling. They're not half bad in...

I dunno about 100 amp, but you can get an 85 amp at Autozone. Ask for the alternator to fit an 80 Chevy HD 1ton dually with the 454. You'll have to swap out the serpentine pulley with your V Belt unit, but that's it.

I've owned a couple myself. I heard all the horror stories about the plastic lines failing, so I used a braided air line. Never once had a line or switch fail.. However, I couldn't keep the locker it'self from busting. Between U Rings, O Rings, Cracks in the housing, bolts workin loose, or...

That's cool to hear, but what about the "Z" turn, creek crossing, and the climb back out? They always seemed the best parts of the trail. I'm sure the climb out, and the creek crossing will wear with time, but I'm wondering how much "work" they did on the "Z".
