Definately a cool parts list.. Any idea on how high you plan on your frame sitting off the ground? That thing'd be awesome to have sitting low for a good solid COG, and let the portal axles/massive tires give you all the height that you need.

Although the actual event of said Bronco-save was incredible to witness... That pic really isn't that great IMO.. It doesn't depict the extreme situation, nearly as well as a side shot would. I love the exhaust pumping out though.. Can't believe that rig made it out alive.. Just my opinion.

Well, we had a good time. We were at our nose-bleed seats 40-30 minutes early, when a chick came buy and gave us front row tickets. She'd handed out 10 or so to the few people sitting up near where we were. So that was cool, being on the front row of such a huge show. Good times, lots of fun..

Here's something completely random.. You could throw some money at this for accesories and have a one of a kind rig for sure. Obviously you'd need to figure out 4WD, but then you might as well throw in a Toyota solid axle up front while you were at it.. :) '90 Nissan Turbo Diesel Pathfinder

Interesting metephor Steve. I was recently at an OHV event where there were some land use oriented booths set up. One thing that I noticed is that they were all 90% into selling their shirts and slogans and pins and other knick knacks... The front most table showed little to no literature on...

I'll add to the late 90's 4runner.. They rock! You can pick them up for $5-9k in good shape. A well taken care of 4runner with the timing done 100k-150k miles is a prime example of a great platform.

Call me crazy, but I like the look of the '62 front end with the 4 headlights, over the '60 2 round lights.. That for some reason tickles my fancy.. Plus, i'd like the auto in the 62.. MMM diesel power.. Get one of the few 1UZ's for sale locally and drop it into a '62.. OME, 33's, snorkel...

I vote FJ62, because that's what I want someday. Others have listed the pros/cons, so i'll just add that the '62 gets my vote.. How can you possibly find something cooler looking than this for the price? Kurt Williams proved that you can still find some out there with little to no rust!!
