    Dana 300, 4:1, doubler, Noisy

The tolorances in the 300 are not adjustable. It is unlikely that could be an issue. It is possible that your rear ring and pinion have worn and developed excessive backlash. This will create a whine noise that is speed and load sensative. It can change as you let on and off the gas. It can be...

    Dana 300, 4:1, doubler, Noisy

The LoMax gears have helical cut teeth that are designed to reduce gear noise. Plus the noise should also be less audible when in high range. If you are hear noise while both cases are in high range, try switch them to low range to see if the noise changes. If not the noise could be from the...

    Bucking Buggy Attempt #1

Ummm...Pretty good that it will start and run. There may be some "bugs" you may need to work out. For example some of the pins for a particular circuit in the harness may not match up with pins in the PCM. If this happens it will immediately set a DTC for the affected circuit. A good wiring...

    Bucking Buggy Attempt #1

What year was your PCM from again? 1996-1997 Explorers did not have PATS. The 1997.5 had the GT40P heads. I would try to find the PCM and engine wire harness from a late 1997 and you should be good. Here is a link to a site for swapping Explorer 5.0s into Rangers. But is still has some useful...

    Anyone do stock trading online?

Umm...well I have about $20,000 I can invest. I planned taking the advise given earlier and starting small and diversifying my stock till I get the hang of things. As I do more research and watch the market I will increase my investments. Did you have some other strategy in mind??

    Anyone do stock trading online?

You mean I could "practice" trading without money to see if I make the right choices? Do you already need to have an account set up to use that feature?

    Anyone do stock trading online?

Recently a co-worker and an acquaintance of mine have started buying and selling stock online. They both have been rather successful at it with one making about $5,500 on 2 1/2 months and the other making about $30,000 in the last 3 months. I am really impressed given the current stock market...

No, those are the original springs with 4" blocks and a spring over and it was sill 6" too short in the rear. These are the 63's.........

It wasn't intentional really. It started when I was mocking up the front leaf springs to build the cross member. In order to place the rear of the springs just under the frame and achieve the correct angle of the axle and maintain caster the front of the leaves ended up way down below the front...

Here are a few more updated pics. I've got some 63" rear leaf springs in the rear and it's finally supporting it's own weight. I also got the 233/300 doubler sitting in it's place.

    Best Tire for Towing

We use the Goodyear Silent Armor tires on all of our light trucks in Salt Lake City Fleet. I love them! They are quiet and durable. They also seem to wear quit well, at least when the drivers are not abusing the hell out of them. If I could afford six of them at once I would put them on my dually.

It's been difficult to find time to work on this since I've brought it home. Even more difficult to post updates. But I do have one for you guys tonight. This is my new pride and joy! After a lot of time gathering parts and about $1600 later, I have my doubler fully assembled and ready to...

    More from Tooele's finest.

That Top should have come with all the bracing it needed. It worked great when I had it. The only thing I hated about it was trying to zip the windows back in was a PITA!

You can get 4.56 thick gears. The ring gear is thicker to compensate for the 4.10 carrier. They are cheaper than replacing the gears and carrier and sometimes are cheaper than the standard set of gears.
