Reading your rebuild thread is what got me thinking about this bike. I've always loved the 80s Hondas, and I think it would be a riot to have the king in the stable. If I go with it, I hope you don't mind if I pick your brain for ideas.

I have a line on picking one of these beasts up, wondering what the consensus of RME will be. My bro owns it, he's the second owner since new. Its in really good shape, and hasn't been ridden in probably 10 years. Hasn't been ridden regularly in closer to 15-20 years. What am I going to run into...

We used to do winter camps up Bells Canyon above the reservoir. Sometimes there was enough snow for caves, other times we camped in the boulder fields in the crevices between huge boulders. its a bit of a hike though. The Spruces/ Doughnut Falls area was always good for snow caves also.

Theres a truck stop in Brigham City, west of the freeway that has them. I haven't tried them, but one of my coworkers from OK gets them all the time and says theyre pretty close to what he grew up eating.

Yup, that's what I'm thinking, but the deep snow may be an issue...good conditions for the tracks equals crappy snowboarding conditions, and vice versa...I do have a winch, and would be fine with using it occasionally, but if its just asking for trouble maybe i'll pass.

This was my concern. I'm thinking of tracking up the yota to use for backcountry snowboard excursions. I guess some of the mtn ranges away from the Wasatch front might be doable, ie running established roads that are snowed in all winter...

So, Ive been wondering about snowcats lately. Specifically, what are the legalities in using them in the mountains? Such as areas that are popular for snowmobiles. I know people use them for getting to their cabins in the winter, and there are outfits that offer cat skiing outside of Park City...
