    '00 mercury mountaineer

Ok this is just the family car but I know someone on here will know about it. Our mountaineer will not stay running after it is started unless my foot is on the gas. if i let up it will die. i can smell gas when i get out but that might just be from me pumping the gas, i don't know. I have to...

    Toyota streetable spool set up

got me wrong i had already made the concession on that point, my logic was the performance aspect. i had no idea that it would cost so much to to the FF rear conversion. so, no i dont find THAT logical to spend so much for such little return. I also didnt fully understand the full mechanics...

    Toyota streetable spool set up

at least someone kind of sees my logic. i figured that the single rear drive wheel in the rear would be great on the road because at the worst it would perform like an open dif where the wheel with the least traction spins. at best it would get more traction. it would just depend on the side...

    Toyota streetable spool set up

cool, thanks guys. thats what i wanted to know really. if it would take that much to do it then it wouldn't be worth it then. it is an interesting concept though

    Toyota streetable spool set up

as far as the functionality goes, there would be no problem on the street with one locked and one free, because going around the corner the free floater would spin freely faster or slower than the drive wheel, and the drive wheel would obviosly be fine because it would be pushing the vehicle...

    Toyota streetable spool set up

so i have an idea for my 91 4runner. I think it might be a good idea to install locking hubs in the rear of my truck and have a full spool in the diff. this way i can run around on the street with one unlocked so it would be managable on the street. then when i go offroad i could lock the other...

    4runner Build

do those struts just bolt right in or do you need to do some fab? Ive got a 91 runner as well and i want to get some modest lift for it.

Your favorite trails and then some

I found this really cool website a while back where I can zoom in on any area in the western us and get either a satelite image, a topographical map with the names of roads and places, or a hybridized version. Not only that, but the imagery is sometimes good enough to see trails and unmarked...

Toyota 2nd Gen 4runner lift options

thanks. i like the SAS route best for up front anyway. As for the rear (im not familliar with land cruizers) do you take the front springs of of the FZJ80 and put them on the rear of the 4runner or does the FZ have rear coils too? My other option if feasible is to go with leaf springs in the...

Safety Inspection laws *new and improved"

seems like a lot of trouble to me... This seems like a lot of trouble to go through in order to be able to enjoy such a meanial freedom. Of course the state knows this, and they know that not enough people would make such a stink about it to make any difference. They will continue to chip...

Toyota 2nd Gen 4runner lift options

OK. I just scored a 91' 4Runner from a relative (free) and now Ive got some questions. First I need some suspension clearance. I knew I had IFS and coils up front, but I had no idea before I looked down there that the rear had coils as well - I was expecting leaf springs. I'd just like to know...

wheel spacers on a blazer S-10

yes i see your point. ive priced spacers and they are a $#!* load. thanks

wheel spacers on a blazer S-10

wouldnt back-spaced wheels have the same effect as spacers because they would ultimately put the wheels the same distance out away from the ball joints, having the same leverage effect as having spacers? and how much can you really get for a set of stock blazer rims?

wheel spacers on a blazer S-10

I have decided to try and make room for 33 x 12.5 bfgs on my stock blazer by adding a 2 or 3 in body lift and trimming like hell the fenders and any other sheet metal that is in the way. Im sure i will still have problems with the tires rubbing during a sharp turn. I am thinking about putting...

    clearing 33s on a blazer ... cheaply.

so trim, trim and more trimming is pretty much all i can do? I assume thats what the sawzall means. I think I'll combine that with a bit of body lift as much as i dont like them. money is a limiter.
