Many many thanks to Eric, Andrew, and Trevor. You guys rock. Trevor and I got the front suspension all buttoned up at 1230. It doesn't look like it sits any higher, Which is fine by me. Im glad to have the ball joint pressing out of the way. If it werent for eric and his revolutionary technique for removing press fit parts, id still be out there. Thanks for all your help guys, you rock.

what is this technique?

New to me but probably not most of you. Put as much pressure as you can with the mongo HF ball joint press, then tap on top of the joint with a three pound hammer, making a few circles around the joint. Joint slips a little and the press gets looser. Tighten, bang, repeat...

Wow, I can't believe I'm 3 days and 6 pages behind on the new project. Looking forward to the build.

I know, this thread (and this build) has taken off. There's not a whole lot more to do:

- sliders
- swap thirds with the tacoma
- tundra brake swap
- install budbuilt skids
- rock lights
- install shower
- get a gas tank skid
- add more gas and go out and explore

someday get front and rear bumpers and maybe a winch.

One day I may get the toytech adjustable rear control arms and panhard bracket.

Best part of the "to do list" right there!

hm... I'll have to look into that. That would really help with clearance when wheeling. If I ever put a swing out tire carrier on this (not likely), it'd be a great mod.

I was originally thinking of building a storage compartment in that area, so I could keep all my spares and tools and recovery gear and have it hidden under the floor. At this point in time, my goals are to keep it pretty close to stock. I don't plan on wheeling it hard enough to warrant a new fuel tank.

Thanks guys. I definitely need to swap the gears. The 4.30's (or maybe they're 4.10s?) are killing me. MPG sucks and power sucks. I need to gather parts for the tundra front brake upgrade, then I'll be ready to swap diffs and all front drivetrain pieces.

Cool build. I don't have the money, time, desire, skills, or patience to pull that off. I'm sure a regear will fix the power issue, and hopefully the MPGs will be better. If not, no big deal, I absolutely love this rig. I haven't had this many compliments on a vehicle ever, and I absolutely love it. I peek out the windows every few hours just to take a look. I'm pretty happy with it.

I can't wait to see this thing in the spring. Pretty sure the first time I will see it will be the RME BBQ and you better go wheeling with me even if that means I have to go on a mild trail to go wheeling with you.
