were you at our last one when maverick set up the winches and we demonstrated setting up different winches with different pulleys for different loads? We pulled that nice FJ Cruiser around a few trees.
End of September or early October would be best for weather.
I know it's been beat to death, but I would like hands on recovery class with actual anchors out to use.
I also really enjoyed the paramedic that came out a couple years back. I could use a refresher on camping/trail first aid and trauma
The trick would be getting a few volunteer instructors so you don't have to listen to me the whole time.
Which topics would you guys like to see at the next QTD?
I'd love for someone to show the ins and outs of welding with batteries and jumper cables.
I have some experience with this.. But am not a professional by any means..
Here's what it will take to pull it off:
Location where we don't have to pay insurance (I vote AF Canyon, but I'm open to other ideas)
instructor to teach basics/intro to modifying your vehicle
instructor to teach basic rock crawling/spotting techniques
instructor to teach where to go wheeling in Utah
instructor to teach camping gear/tips
instructor to teach battery welding class
instructor to teach basic recovery concepts
instructor to teach hands-on winching/recovery skills
instructor to teach land use/treadlightly principles
instructor to teach any other skills classes
someone to coordinate the service project or trail run at the end
