Ok, the only "for sure" we've not heard from is Tonkaman so I've changed the date to the 24-26...hopefully that doesn't rule him out. Cool, I'm looking forward to this trip so I hate to push it out a couple more weeks, but I think it will be better overall. (Happy wives mean happy lives, right :D )

Sure. Ill be in for sure. As long as we "I" get my bike tuned. But I've got plenty of time for that and hope to have it done this week.

For Easter we rode out Kane creek, up the highway to behind the rocks, and down Pritchett canyon back to Kane creek road. Near as I can figure with my tedious map review we rode
50 miles, including a little overlook trail we took.
We had 3 stock yz250 2t bikes, and my desert tank. 1 bike ran out of fuel at the end of Pritchett, about 45 miles. I put gas in it from my bike, and added a little to one other bike. The 3rd got no extra fuel- he was a beginner rider and was by far easiest on throttle and rpm's. I would think 50 miles is about the limit for 2.1 gal on a yz.

That's good info to have, thanks.

Is there a group returning home on Saturday?? That would greatly influence my ability to go if I could ride with someone, and be home for Sunday meetings.

I'm planning on coming back Saturday. How long of a drive is it? What time "should" the ride be done Saturday so we can make plans to head back. Grant, are you cool coming back Saturday if we ride together?

Yeah yeah Saturday night return would be great. It would definitely be a late drive home, but I can reach over and smack you in the face once in a while to keep your eyes open :D

I'd plan to be off the trail around 5-6pm...maybe later, maybe earlier. This is part of why I'm planning to come back Sunday is I don't want to rush to get off the trail (rushing will just lead to problems, injuries, etc) and driving late after riding all day long is less than desirable.

I would prefer to be home for Sunday meetings as well. But thats a long drive after a long ride.

Im gonna play it by ear I think. Maybe I will leave super early Sunday morning.

This is something I would very much like to do, but at a later date. We were down there last year and the SECOND we left the payment the centering pin on my Cherokee popped. We got to Gray Mesa but decided we were too far back in there with potential problems, so we never finished the trail. I think it would be much more enjoyable on a dirt bike.

This will happen for me and my old man one day. Here is a Youtube video of some highlights of the trail. The guy says it took him around 5 hours round trip riding "fairly hard".
