WOW, looking good Kiel. What are you cutting you alum with? I read in Peterson's a couple of issues ago. that that Harbor Freight electric nibbler was a decent choice. I'm not at that stage yet, but actually did some work on mine over the weekend. Keep it up, I see some fall wheeling coming up for us.:greg:

I have all my aluminum skins cut on a CNC laser. If you have the skins drawn on CAD, It can be done easily and it's fairly inexpensive.

That's what I meant... :p

Just remember "I before E..." and you will always get his name right! (that's what I do...)

I haven't made any dumb comments about your buggy for a while, so here we go. Have you started this thing yet? Did I miss that part.... somewhere is the last 1.5 years worth of posts?
What is your expected time for your first trail ride? And when are you really going to be done? With the end in sight, I would think you might be picking up steam, excited to get it done and drive it. You know I would love to be there man, for the maiden voyage. I am starting to get the bug for a trip back to Moab, it's been a while.

Hey Chris, Yeah I have been trying to slam it out for the last couple months. Usually friday nights, saturday and sundays. I'm working on it today also. Starting wise. I need to just run fuel line, then finish the battery mounting location, cables, then finally mount the computer and just plug and play the wires. I hoping in the next couple weeks. I will be way stoked to hear it run, Like you said its been over 1.5 years

A thousand small details, a hundred things to do on the "to do" list, 3x more money than your highest estimate.... that's what building a buggy is all about. But there is NO greater feeling in the WORLD then when you drive it on your first trail after all that work. I still haven't finished mine yet, got it to the point of reliable and useable and its really hard to work on all those little things now.
I wish I had the time to come and help you get it done, I'm a little short on time myself. We should throw you a "got the motor running" party when the time comes :) Isn't that a 6.0? Have to go back and read...

PS Make sure you put heaters in those seats, you will not be sorry!

Yep, I'm staying pretty motivated latley. It actually looks like something now so its easier. The downside is its real easy to dump money on stuff to finish it up. Like sensors, o2's, shifters, panels, flooring, gauges etc etc. It has been a little hard to pretty much dump most of my paychecks for almost 2 years into it.

Well today I notched the front frame, due to double ended ram clearence issues. Originally I was going with a single ended ram and space was not an issue. Due to the DE ram being mounted higher and by itself with a huge truss. It would not let me suck my suspension down as far as I would like it. So I plasma'd it and boxed it in. You guys that don't have a plasma really need to get one:greg: I can't imagine doing this without it. Then I final assembled the radiator mounts and stuck the foam in them. Finally I welded in some fairlead braces into the front guard assembly.

You're getting close to that painful stage when it's completely done, and you have strip it all the way down to the bare chassis for paint.
