not yet, I haven't messed with it much. I want to pull it off one more time and sand it, paint it, and mount and wire the winch.

Steve, my offer still stands. I'll smooth that thing out nice. Let me know when you pull it off, if you would like some help.

I used factory bushings. They hold up a lot better than energy susp. Those new A-arm bushings really stiffened things up in the front. if you've got a front end that clunks in dips/turns, that could be a contributing factor (along with TRE's and BJs).

my 99 runner does alot of clunks, I guess a rebuild is in order, and your bumper is to die for, i want it, i need it!!

I think most '96-02 runners/tacomas could benefit from the a-arm bushing replacement. It sure stiffened things up for me.

Tonight I installed my Helton water heater (shower). I've missed this on the past 2 trips. I'm surprised how much I missed having a shower on my rig. It's a must-have trips over 2 days.

I plumbed it in series, right after the heater control valve. That way I control the temperature of the water with my heater dial in the truck. This is how I ran it on my last truck and it worked great.

I need to find a couple dust caps to keep crap out of the water lines.

I just need to burp the cooling system and it'll be good to go.

I don't have an onboard water tank. The shower unit has a pickup with a pump on it, so I can put the pickup tube in any water source (stream, cooler, scepter can). I usually take a bucket or a third scepter water can for showering. We used lake water on the Rubicon, it was great. It's crazy how warm the water will get.

I see, thats way better than having to carry a good amount of water around everywhere. Have you been able to have water sources every time you have gone out with it?

Since I have a pickup, I always have room for extra stuff, especially water. I carry 2-3 5 gal scepter water jugs. I've never needed more than 5 gal to shower. The rest is for drinking water.

Kurt sells 2 different helton heaters. Mine is the hotter one that only requires a single pass. It will get hot enough to burn you (if you set it that way), but we've showered @ 35* with 35* water, and after a single pass it was still hot. I'm not sure what the differences are, but I would definitely get the red one (the hotter one) again. If I had to choose between a shower and the RTT, I'd choose the shower. Fortunately I don't have to make that choice. :D

Kurt, feel free to post up about the product so others interested in the shower can get the info here.
