Yes, I trimmed the bottom 4" of my front flares. I did have to trim the inner metal fender as well to clear the tire.
Here are a few tips when you tub yours:
1) don't tub it until you have the exact wheels, tires, spacers, and UCAs you'll be running. Don't just trust my measurements to work for you, we may be running different UCAs, wheels, etc. Different wheels/tires/offsets require cutting/pounding in different parts of the fender.
2) install the upper control arm, remove the strut, then the wheel spacers (if you're going to use them), then a wheel with the 35s. Then jack your a-arm up until it's bottomed out on the bump stop. Keep cutting/pounding until your wheel can completely clear the firewall with zero rubbing.
3) remove as much of that rubber undercoating stuff before welding your new panel in
4) Once the inner fenders/floor is tubbed, put the outer fender back on, and trim anything that needs to be trimmed to still clear at full bump.
