1) rocks will be stacked. but the remove should be part of your trail manners also.

2) This one just pisses me off. I hate trail trash. My hell you brought it with you take it back with you.

3) Know when to say when. We all want to make the obsticale, but it is not always going to happen.

4) Sometimes you can't always be prepared but making the best effort can make the people around you more inclined to help.

5)bypasses:confused: there is a bypass that has come to pass on rocker knocker and it is a crock of ----. This is not needed or appropriate(sp), and if you use it you are wrong IMHO.

Hope this was inline with how I was to treat this discussion.

Just and idea- I could cut the lettering out of a piece of 1/8" steel. ( I have a piece I will donate) This would be welded to a piece of 1/4 or 3/8"plate, painted white on one side. Weld it around the edges and throw in a couple of rossette welds away from the letters, let it rust and you have a 'BLM' brown sign that is easily read and fairly tolerant of bullets. Every couple of years someone could take a small paintbrush to the letters to renew them.

No. we need one twice as big, right at the trail head.

I don't think so... Why send out a huge banner so all can see 4 miles away? I have NEVER seen a sign this large in the wilderness or on a trail ride.

4x3 is plenty.

Don't gob up the trail with a banner..

true, the more I think about it. One just as an advisement in that size is apporpriate.

EXCELLENT IDEA!!! This is exactly what we want!!

Now on the "size matters" debate: Only make it as big as it needs to be to say as little as absolutely necessary. For the trail signs, maybe 18" by 24". Make it pretty reasonable. All the other information put on the poster and attach it to the Kiosk at the highway. In my mind, the trail signs are more of a trail marker than a big sign.

If I may,,

This trail needs to go back to some what of it's original condition prior to this sign going up or when the sign goes up.

"What do ya mean Shawn?"

Well, the first filter is no longer a filter,,, we need to remove some rocks, same with a few other areas. I also feel we need to control the entrance, people are entering where ever they want. A few boulders placed in certain areas will help control the area.

Maybe this should be done at the clean up or after when the redo has been removed.

I say we form a couple committees to delegate each part of this operation...

Some could include...

Working with BLM/Landowners to choose loacation/legality...
Sign wording...
Construction of the sign...
Installation of sign...
Maintainance of sign/repair...

Each group remorts to the others... what do you all think... Lets keep this ball rolling...

Obviously, to the most intuitive spellers... "remort" is a very correct word for this situation... :D

But back to topic...

What ye think of committees?
