Jealous of what guy? I do all my own work with a paralyzed left hand and a fused vertebrae in my back, which by the way happened while protecting your freedom to buy such a large and useless piece of steel! I paid cash for every single part I have installed on my Jeep and haven't even used a credit card in over 6 years. Not to mention I paid cash for my 2 MX5's in the garage and am about to buy a Lotus later this year. One of the Mazdas has enough money under the hood to buy my Jeep twice, go figure.

Here is what I think happened, you bought your H2 thinking they were "cool", just to find out they really were not. So then you decided that lifting it and throwing money at it would make it "cool" again, but hasn't completely netted you the effect you were hoping for.

As for your question as to wheeling with Hummers, yes I have. A buddy of mine when I lived in Colorado had an H1 and we would hit some trails when time allowed. He is a paraplegic with some awesome driving skills. He was hurt while protecting your freedom as well.

So next time you think you are better than someone and say "jealous much", maybe you should just leave your foot where it's at.... And assuming you were actually in the Marines (which being in Utah makes me wonder), you should know how to control your ego and attitude. Maybe some food for thought there guy!

SCCA? Id like to know what you have "under the hood" of the one. Most SCCA classes that people run Miatas in don't allow much engine modification (obviously there are other classes). I'm hoping to hear a 13b swap with a To4R or something similar. If you go to MMP look for the black Evo VI. I guarantee i'll be the only one there with that car.

Sorry for the off topic moment, I'm a sportscar/bike guy and that got my attention.

So yeah, as originally suggested you guys should take your vehicles up a good challenging local trail and see how they do. I like this kind of stuff. Jeep on 33's vs a H2 with all of the fixins. No more internet trash talk. Let's do it!

I just want to make a point that this is about Hummers, not Hummer drivers/owners. Keep the discussion about the vehicle(s) or the thread will be closed.

thus why the brand is being eliminated?

Perhaps I should of rephrased that. My point was, we are not the target for Hummer's sales. Hummers sold to the big rich bling crowd. I don't know if the line was successful or not but people did buy them. I think its safe to say that right now the line probably wouldn't last long in the economy we have. Probably a smart move on GMs part to pull it.

Wow!

-_-

In regards to the video, it would have taken him 12 seconds instead of 33 seconds to climb that if he didn't weigh 10k lbs.

Wow! I've run most of the trails in Moab and I have never come across anybody with a stop watch to see how fast people run obstacles. Is that what the toyota guys do?

There are several things that sadden me about this.

#1 I feel that over the past year hummer has made some significant improvements by increasing engine sizes, adding the H3T and adding a front locker. I felt things were moving some what in the right direction.

#2 The other thing that pains me is Jeep and Toyota just lost there main offroad competitor. I hope Jeep does not go soft because of this.

Lastly, sorry for my elitist attitude, but it's not my fault Mitsubish has the finest offroad racing team in the world.

Na.. Too many sticks comin out of the floor for the 3 t-cases plus tranny... It's takes 1.3 seconds to shift each shifter.. so that's easily 3-4 minutes up the average obsticle.. That time includes relatching the hood down, putting a condom over the brake fluid resevoir(since it mysteriously dissapeared), and figuring out that hi in the 1st case~lo in the middle case~lo in the 3rd case and 2nd gear up the obsticle gives enough wheel speed to rampage the Japanese squirrels up the rock...

Must be your day to sit in judgment.... Damn. I never said I was better than anybody else........ever.

My ego and attitude? Wow! You gotta be joking......where is your objectivity?

For those of us who have driven an H1 and worked on them, anything else called a "Hummer" is a waste, sorry. As for lifted H2's and H3's, most Jeeps on 31's or 33's will walk right past them on a trail, no offense. IFS belongs under sedans, not trucks.

There is your first post on this thread. Disrespect for me right off the bat...... and at every post since. Who's better than who?

So why is it I'm supposed to take your crap?

I think that you Rugged H2 also enjoy the rise out of people. You've started threads that moved in similar directions. Have you ruffed enough feathers yet?

Sami......... If threads move that way it isn't always my fault. Sure I have some biases as we all do.

I don't hate on others rigs....... but I damn sure deal with them hating on mine. Some in the freakin Jeep community are worse than the greenies........and then they turn around and blame it on the Hummers. There's a good example above.

Thanks Scootrrydr..... by the way....... I've never seen that before.

One thing we are not, is a Brand Name community... long as you're staying on the trail, I'm fine with you. Individuals may have their own inner hatred towards certain vehicles, but not the whole community. ;)

Greg I'm glad I got my edit in before you posted. :D

I agree........ it has been my experience that RME does try to include all 4x4's.

Most of us aren't even aware of our own biases..... most of the time.

Maybe after Hummer is dead those of us that wheel them may get some respect........... but I sure as hell am not holding my breath for it.

Like earlier said in the posts I am not a h2 or h3 fan. Could care less if they get rid of them. What point did the serve? I have test driven them and really didnt care for the blind spots, they were to big, the seat made you feel like a king which i dont like. They are just a waste of money in my eyes and obviously the american people and GM's eyes also. There are others out there that will expect to go also. As for Rugged if I came across you on the trail i would be happy to wheel with you and have a good time as long as you dont have the attitude you have on here. People have there opinions but when you attack there opinion and say they are wrong and you are right, that puts you in the crowd that people expect from a hummer driver my two cent but again no problem seeing the hummer die, ~Semper Fi Devil pup

Really?

Does it look like I'm the one doing the insulting of others here?

If they called my mother a B!tch........ would that somehow be my fault too?

Please show me where I did what you accuse me of........

Devil pup?..... from another Marine over what rig I chose? Amazing.

Some of the Marines in this thread seem to be the most egotistical..

I agree that you take a load of undeserved sh!t Rugged..

So we have ascertained:
A. GM is killing Hummer
B. Everyone has differing opinions, Jeeps suck, Toyota's Suck, Hummers suck (but no one has attacked Ford, so I AM Omnipotent :cody:
C. Everyone has good or bad to say about the Hummer line
D. Some of us have more shallow e-personna's than others.
E. Regarless of whether Jeeps Suck, Toyota's use 29 gears to climb an obstacle in 3-4 minutes that an H2 can surmount in 33 seconds, and a lighter vehicle like a Jeep can climb in 12 seconds.... They all take two things from us, Money and Time.. and we are obsessed with them.

Bout all I can muster as I listen to my computer groan its last revolutions (built By Micron in the 90's or Frigidaire in the 70's?)... and wonder when this ol' pIII will crash.....

I've always thought that Rugged has been pretty decent on the forums, especially since everytime he says something everyone starts talking trash because of his vehicle of choice. He has taken it much better than I would have.

Wouldn't it be nice if we all popped out of a cookie cutter

Who cares what you run, what should matter is how you run it... if your 4x4 endeavors for the year surmount to a Moab trip and run or twelve on Rattlesnake, I think your a waste, not your vehicle. ;)
