hehehe... Dude, I was the one that took the pics... I should know... they were all on trails.. look closer, the only on that is hard to see is where Im attempting to go up the rock (which is where the trail forked)... Like I said, some are ATV trails, but they are all trails.

You are NEAR a trail here. Not on it.

I have no idea where you are in this picture.

The two lower photos in my post are PERFECTLY acceptable to me.

wow................ I just don't know what to say...If those are trails (like the sage brush you are running over) than stay the fu** away from Moab, the devistation you would cause down there would be just unimaginable.

I guess there are two types of people that need to be recognized here:

#1 the person who sees something that can be fixed and has the balls to do something about it.

ie. this thread, if who ever, where ever, was, hopefully unaware, that their action are stupid, maybe someone by having the balls to say something we can prevent future headaches.

#2 the person who is needs the corrective action, who, hopefully unaware that their actions were "stupid" and had potential to cause "future headaches", could realize the "hopefully unintended" error of their current driving practices, and make remedy.

With that said, realize that ignorance or arrogance, is not a replacement for, “oh I screwed up, I didn’t realize these could be taken so negatively. Thank you for having the balls to help me protect our sport.”

ps,

Just because it is an ATV trail does not mean a full size rig should be on the same trail.

I'm with Shawn on this one. I will be the first to say I have driven over things I shouldn't have, but I also don't post pics of it either. You should have a sit down with Kurt or Darrel about staying on the trail. You and your buddies defensive attutude only inflames the situation, it's obvious that the majority of the pepole on this board feel the same way about your photos. Most of the people that have responded to this thread are ACTIVE members of U4WDA. Your attitude makes me think of an instance I had at EJS last year. I was in line with atleast 100 or more viehicles coming out of Hells Revenge, a Cherokee with 4 younger guys in it comes flying by in the sage brush throwing garbage out the window. I was the only one that stopped to pick up their garbage no one else even stopped & offered to help. No one said anything either, so I guess if it's not your garbage it's not your problem??? Your attitude sucks, you need to admit it probably wasn't the smartest thing to do and remove your cool pics from your site. Don't be a dip **** do the right thing, thank you.

I still stand behind every pic on the site, and hey, if SUWA or any other org. wants to start it, then bring it.
Why piss them off and GIVE them ammo??????????? With this logic, why should I pick up a beer can I found on a trail? Dude, give a **** about this! Give a **** about something!! Because it's real obvious the only thing you care about is visiting old mines and historic sites. The 'trails' in your pictures don't look like any of the 'trails' we are trying to keep to play on. They all look like maintained roads. And yes, you are off the trail/road. Anytime you have to run over a bush or tree, then you are off the trail. Those won't get closed because they can't be designated as wilderness, so why should you care, right? So basically you can keep doing what you are doing and nothing will happen to you or your precious mining roads. However, doing what you are doing is perpetuating other people to go off trails 'he did it why cant I' and wasting precious resources of the people that are trying to keep trails open for EVERYONE to drive on.

Shawn... I highlighted the trail in yellow to make it easier to follow... and if an ATV can hit the trail, why shouldnt I?? I surely do less damage than an ATV.. so whats the diff??

Exactly! The stair picture for example... I don't care if it was a set of stairs you personally made in your backyard just to do the flexing on. Once you post them on the website for everyone else to see, you are giving them the 'permission' to put their truck on the Tecoma stairs. You did it, why can't they? Next thing you know, you have hundreds of people doing each year. Cement can't handle that much trafic, and will break down and no longer exist. Not to mention the 'road' coming up to the stairs will then turn into something else. All of your actions do have an impact. Even if you are going to be arrogant and deny any wrong doing....

Not true.. An ATV has a LOT less impact than your Land Rover! Especially since it's an ATV trail, every subsequent ATV is then 'treading lightly' and not making any more impact than the last guy did. You, however, are completely changing the way the area looks. Now the next guy in a truck to come through will see your tire tracks and say 'hmm road!' and go off that direction. Most likely even get stuck (nothing is as competent as your Land Rover) and make an even more impact.

...or just dont visit my site... Im not associated with the U4WDA... and what do trash stories have to do with any of this...unless I posted that pic of me dumping 40 emptys down the grand canyon (note.. that was sarcasm) and Wayne.. Im totally lost as to wtf you are talking about now. How does any of my arguement say you shouldnt pick up trash?? Heres a big freakin news flash, 90% of the trails that are hit were originally to access mines, ghost towns or RRs. For example...Rattlesnake, (Mercur, Sunshine and countless other prospects... a lot of the Moab trails (Uranium mines), AF Canyon (more mines than I can count with my shoes off), etc...
so with that understanding (which I may have not made clear) how does my point of view not help out the 4wd groups, at least a little??

and if I piss off suwa.. good!! but I certaintly havent given them any ammo...
Are you sure some of you guys arent secret suwa members?? cause Ive never seen anyone get so bent out of shape about the preservation of trails... with the exception of those guys donw in sedona... :)

Dude, your no better that the fawking rednecks that vandalize the cabin at Hogup. Just because you drive a Rover doesn't make you any different than Jethro w/ his shotgun a six pack and 4wd.

arrogance,

classic case of:"I know I am in the wrong, but I can't admit it and the more I type the better I feel. Besides my sh*t don't stink." syndrome

Pullin the Dobermans chain to piss em off sounds like to me. He knows what he is doing and it is working good for him. Time to close this thread if you ask me so his jolleys can be ended.

If these were pics of you driving that far off the Rubicon, the guys on the Pirate board would have flamed you off by now. Not acceptable there or here!
