Not true.. An ATV has a LOT less impact than your Land Rover! Especially since it's an ATV trail, every subsequent ATV is then 'treading lightly' and not making any more impact than the last guy did. You, however, are completely changing the way the area looks. Now the next guy in a truck to come through will see your tire tracks and say 'hmm road!' and go off that direction. Most likely even get stuck (nothing is as competent as your Land Rover) and make an even more impact.

Yeah, five mile is a good example of the light impact that ATVs have, as is AF canyon...and I want people to follow the trails I take, thats why I invite them along...The Trucks, Wagons whatever were there before the ATVs to make the trails..:ugh:
However, if we follow your ATV train of thought... then soon we can turn the ATV trail into a bicycle trail, and then a walking trail and then we can close it all together!!

And Andy, Im not trying to be rude here, but sagebrush only takes a few years to grow rather large, especially in rainy seasons, so by your logic, any trail with sagebrush (or any type of vegitation) on it is no longer a trail.. Hmm interesting concept... I think I saw that on the SUWA site somewhere....

And as an added note...I find it extremely amusing for some of you to talk smack when your avatars show vehicles doing way more damage than my little truck has ever done... talk about calling the kettle black...

Dude, your no better that the fawking rednecks that vandalize the cabin at Hogup. Just because you drive a Rover doesn't make you any different than Jethro w/ his shotgun a six pack and 4wd.

um... reading through thread, not seeing anything about driving a Rover... and here comes Andy pulling stuff out of his a$$...also what does that have to do with anything... or are you just out of arguement but to ignorant to let it go?? Note: Preserving Utahs Ghost Towns and Mines... and then Im no better than vandals? okay... good logic train there. And how do you know it was rednecks?? I'd be willing to bet it was some city slicker that found the place and figured it was abandoned so he could shoot it... the rednecks are usually a bit more preservation minded...

You sir, are a fool. You say that you don't drive over sage brush. Am I just imagining sage under your tire?

please make note of where I said I dont drive over sage, also please quote me anywhere that it is written that the presence of sage on a trail makes it suddenly not a trail... again... the suwa website comes to mind..

Parts of Five Mile are 'open travel'. I assume you are speaking of those? There are areas that are not 'open travel'. I'd agree that full size/mid-size vehicles are a little lacking in places to go. Your renegade actions aren't going to open more areas, though.

Why should it have to grow back? If you stayed on the trail (in this case a road) it would be there and totally unmolested. You've given NO AMMO to any one to criticize your pursuits if you'd stayed on the road. I'm SURE you could find an actual trail to show off your Rover's flex.

Let's speak in specifics. I've tried to be pretty diplomatic about what I've posted about you and your rig while trying to direct criticism (my opinion) constructively. What/who do you have issues with?

I KNEW IT!!! Time to get a rope!:greg: :shawn: Man I'd love to see this tool post his crap on Pirate.

Jinx your so right on this:
"arrogance,

classic case of:"I know I am in the wrong, but I can't admit it and the more I type the better I feel. Besides my sh*t don't stink." syndrome."

On a more positive note.

I have a pick-up trash trailer that has tons of clearance. If any RME'r wants to use it for a clean up run please contact me.

I have NO ISSUE with anyone on this site, however you have Andys avatar showing a jeep almost in roll mode up a rock that is BLACK with tire tread (no enviromental impact there...) and even your avatar.. Dude, tell me thats a trail and that you left no impact...

Since when have rednecks been "preservation minded" that's laughable! Your proving my point exactly!!!! YOU DON'T GIVE A **** AND IT SHOWS, PLEASE STOP!!!! You can't justify yourself here, you are clearly in the wrong! Just because you don't care about pissing off the SUWA or anyother group doesn't give you the right to jeopardise our efforts, period!

I also just looked at them, and they apear to be in their OWN yards!

Andy's avatar is of a competition, on a man made course. How can you compare that to driving over sage brush and going off trail?
EDIT
And Bryson _IS_ on the trail!

Andy's avatar? That's at Rocky Mountain Raceway    There isn't ANY environmental impact there.

Mine's from a trail. You've maybe even heard of it. Hell's Revenge, Moab, Utah. Specifically, Mickey's Hot Tub. The tire tracks on sandstone literally wash away after a rain. Try to run a slickrock trail in early spring-late winter. It's hard to stay on the trail if it weren't for the 'carns' (spelling??) and the efforts of RedRock4Wheelers (thanks for all you do, BTW).

Dude, I think the ghost town thing is cool. There's lots of cool history and artifacts around out there. If I run across one of those I try to save it for the next person to check out exactly how I found it. It's the exact same principle with the trails. Leave things how you found it (or better, in the case of trash or whatever. If it's something you can't clean up, let the land manager know (say like grafitti on pictographs/petroglyphs or something))

That happens to be at RMR, MORON! Did you happen to notice the bright orange spray paint on the concrete course too! It's called a rock crawling competition on a PRIVATE course! You really are stupid....... I don't need to say anymore I will be laughing at that one for a while.

that happens to be an obstacle on a MAN MADE course. Looks like Matterhorn to me. Stop by RMR and you can see it....:ugh:

I also don't think your actions are justified. I would like to go on these trails with you but if this is the kind of attitude you have.. then you need an attitude adjustment. Obviously you are off the trail.. I see no tire tracks BEHIND your vehicle on those 2 pics.

Do us all a favor and take them off.

BTW, I do like your rig.

and my avitar is me on the Snakes.. ON the trail :D

Looks like I got beat to the RMR thing LOL

OMG! In the time that it takes to read this thread, I could have driven to Moab, done Hell's Revenge AND Poison Spider AND Fins & Things backwards.

Everybody thinks he is right. Otherwise, he'd be doing something different. You'll never resolve the issue with a mud war.

Personally, I'd rather be wheelin'.

Corey, I think the point trying to be made here is, your attitude, that you are going to do what ever the hell you want and screw the rest of us. This type of attitude is very dangerous for the rest of us who want to keep our public lands open. I don't give a crap if it's wilderness land, sagebrush or a mining district, your lack of concern that most of us feel is upsetting. (sorry if I'm summarizing/generalizing everyones thoughts).
I too feel as others, your arrogance about your precious pictures will only hurt the cause we fight so hard to protect.
IMHO, it's the extremes in our groups that hurt our cause. Not saying this too you Corey, but if we could eliminate the few ATV's, 4x4's etc, that do go off trail and ruin the land, basically, the 5-10% of Dumbass's that trash our trails without regard. and then get rid of the top 5-10% of the extremist in the WAG's and we could get this all worked out!.
I would suggest understanding that most of us just don't want or need to present extra ammo for the otherside.
