I run a group of about 12 grand cherokees through there every year with Grand Slam West (sissy Grand Cherokee exclusive run I help organize). I require 33's and f/r lockers to be on the trail (for time sake) but the only parts that give trouble 'usuall' are Rock Pile (obviously) and the hill just before it which has become very eroded over the last few years (mostly because asshats that don't belong kept dropping down into the wash and driving up and over the berm that gave a better line to the hill.....but I digress).
We ran it last year right after a storm and the trail deffinately had some more interesting spots, but over the last 8 years that I've been running it I've seen spots become easier and more difficult from year to year. I've probably run that trail 70 times by now. It's pretty dynamic and I welcome more difficulty. I personally think that grading the entrance may have solved the wilderness boundery issue, but created other problems further down where people get stuck on terrain that they aren't prepared for or experienced enough to deal with.
Brett, you could get through it with spotting and a couple rigs that can pull you over the difficult sections. I can get you up rocker knocker without a strap and I honestly don't think you'll touch your rockers (ZJ's on 33's don't hit too hard, and an XJ has better breakover). You'll probably take a strap a couple times, but just make sure you run it on a non-busy day so you don't hold anyone up.
