Ummmmm...

So my chromoly dana 35 will die on these trails? I ran 5 mile last night and my xj did not want to make it up waynes world. But yes i do have rock sliders and i could care less about body damage. Am I wasting my time thinking i can pull those trails off?

Yes your rig will make it, even if you have to take a strap once or twice. Yes your chromie d35 will likely survive(may end up with a bent housing) if your not worried about body damage bring it. you should be ok.

the trail is harder than 5 mile pass, but not any harder than waynes world.

Thanks for the info! Hopefully I will be able to make it, it all depends on if my family comes up to slc to visit that weekend now.

Agreed, bring your stuff and have fun. It is a great trail that is worth doing. I am excited to do it again, and am looking forward to crazy 8. It will be nice to run with you again James.

Hope to meet you tom tom. It will be good to have another cherokee on the trail. ;)

So how many people do we have so far that have committed? Sounds like it will be a decent turn out.

That funny,

Never a bad idea to carry spares though. I carry one side of the 44 and 2 sets each of the front 30. I also have a extra drive-line which would work for front or rear along with some steering stuff. Yes it adds weight but I have saved myself as well as others with my spare parts. I say it is better to have extra than to not have it if I break. I have done my share of trail repairs. ;)
Hope to see you there.

Looks like I will make it for Fri and at least Sat and not sure on Sun yet. Looks like the wife and daughter wants to go, so I think the camping is out and may have to get a room where wydej is staying. How many wives are planning on going. I know my wife doesn't want to be the only one there with a bunch of guys.

I haven't done the HTT trail in a few years, but last time I did, I know the land owners weren't to happy about anyone coming out on there land, so we went up on one day, camped at the top and came down through the trail the following day. I know it's basiclly a full day to go one direction, so does someone have an in with the land owners to come out on their land? or what? or have things changed since last time I was there?

I called the Apple Tree Inn today and they told me they have plenty of rooms available. It is the Apple Tree Inn in Richfield right?

I do.. I can get us out the gate at the top...that said if you dont have permission and the combo to the gate you are to go back down the trail, the land owners have been very gracious to let us do the trail, and could put an end to it at any time. It was lots faster when we could come down through Neilsons property, we dont have permission to come that way anymore and now that we have to cross through Thursby's and come down dry canyon Its a long way out the top, in some cases its just as fast to come back down he trail.

There was a time when I had the combo to Neilsons gate and they were very gracious to let us go through their property, but due to some inconsiderate individuals who made the decision to vandalize equipment and property (Unknown if they were wheelers or not), we all lost the ability for a quick and smooth ride out.

Rockreligious - Can you tell me if there is a trail sign posted close to the first obstacle?

My wife and three kids (3,6,13) will be coming and I hope I am not the only one who gets shown up when thier wife drives. Yes the apple tree inn is in richfield and it has a swimming pool for the kids.

That is the one I called last week and they told me they had open rooms. I believe they told me $45 a night. I will call and get reservations tomorrow. I will have my wife and 16 year old daughter with me. My daughter has been driving since she was 12 and now wants her own jeep, I can't keep her out from behind the wheel. Maybe after she gets her own, I can start driving mine again.

Well wish I could make this one!! I had 3 saturdays off in a row this month (RARE) and so I think I will be pushing my luck to try to get this off. I will try, but it is a long shot.

I don't want to split hairs, but any chance we can start the trail on Friday at 11am? It's somewhat of a challenge to get my fam up and driving real early but I could easily make Ephraim from Toowilly by 11:00. I really want to do this trail on Friday!!
