RME skateboard meeting

That skate park's pretty cool. We have a cement and a modular one over this way. I tried my neighbors Santa Cruz board on the hill next to my house the other day. It was a pretty sweet board.

The hill next to my house is perfect for carving back and fourth.

So the skatepark tour of the west continues!

I was in Denver last weekend to visit the folks and hit up my old home park.
Greenwood Village. I absolutely love this park... it makes me look like I know what I'm doing.

Transitions are perfect, coping is low, concrete is smooth and it's really clean

This week I was up in Boise for work and brought the board.
Hit up a couple skateparks up there.
First one was the Rhodes park, it's underneath the freeway and it attracts a lot of bums (see pic) and hessian's.
Mostly street inspired stuff and a big gnarly metal halfpipe with some ripples at the bottom... not exactly my favorite but it was more fun than my cheap motel room.

So I asked some dirty little hessian kid with a rat tail where I could find some transition stuff...
and he goes, "Go to the Fort, that place is hot," so I hop on google I find it:

Fort Boise rec center: apparently it was a fort on the Oregon trail that has a nice rec center built on it's grounds now.
Pretty cool park: had a nice horseshoe, a sweet soup bowl and great flow, definitely worth the trip!
And it has lights!
Can't wait to skate there again next time!

Skatepark tour continues!
I was up in PC last week for work.
Figured it might be the last time I could hit that park before the snow closes it.

fun spine
nice bowls
IMG_20111110_164358.jpg

Good flow
IMG_20111110_163631.jpg

Some good street areas

I made a movie cruising around one of the bowls but it was pretty shaky and I filmed it sideways and it kinda made me sick to watch it sooo didn't upload that.

This is probably one of the best built parks in Utah. It has pretty big features, there was quite a bit of snow, water and leaves, and I was all alone out there so I didn't get too crazy, but it has great flow. I love this park.
Two thumbs up!

I think I'll hit the one up by Brighton High School next week if anyone wants to go.

So I was in St. George working on a project all last week.
Worked 70+ hours in 6 days... With the free time we had, my wife and I and my cousin and spouse drove up Kolob Canyon on our way home...
I thought I wouldn't get to check it out but...
for 30 minutes I got to ride my new found favorite Utah skatepark...

Super awesome transitions! just like Greenwood village park. Really mellow tranny with the right amount of coping stick-out. I hope I can build a mini ramp with the same tranny.

we hit up the Jordan Peace park last Thursday at lunch. Taught my buddy to drop in... he wrecked like 9 times in a row and kept coming back for more! it was pretty funny.

Two skateparks this weekend.

First: Delta. Modular concrete park. Really good transitions and some nice low rails, but some really weird drop offs. For a park in a small town I'd rate it really high.

Pocatello for work last week. Hit up their little park.
It's located in Ross park by the zoo.
Locals told me this was built entirely on donations! Amazing what a little community can do.

Really fun park with really nice locals.
Great transitions on the mini ramp.
I ran into a couple guys on a skatepark tour of the west. 3 days into a 2 week trip. One from Kentucky the other from far North Eastern Wyoming. Their wives both took trips without them, so they just took off to go camping for a couple weeks. Sounds fun.
