Rubicon Shakedown Run #1: Mineral Basin, Aug 3rd and 4th

^^ haha I will wear my rex-kwon-do stars and stripes pants. If a bear comes by I will give it a round house kick to the face wearing those bad boys.

I will be bringing my little trailer. I think I can pull it through. Never wheeled it to hard though. We will see.

On this run, we use the buddy system. No more flying solo. You need somebody watching your back at all times. Second off, you're gonna learn to discipline your image. You think I got where I am today because I dressed like Peter Pan?

dang. I was wondering why it was so smokey out here. Thanks for the info Maverick. We are still planning on running Mineral Basin. I'll post up if it gets cancelled.

If it turns out that the canyon is closed, let's re-convene at the Kountry Korner Chevron in Highland. We'll go camping one way or another tonight.

Well, have fun...wish I was out camping/wheeling this weekend. Instead, I'll be imprisoned with 61 members of my wife's family in a measly 2500 sq. ft. cabin...:(

sounds like the fire restrictions have been lifted and we can have a campfire tonight. Let's hope they get it contained in time and that everyone is safe.

no kidding. It's nice that they've got the reservoir right there, hopefully the douse it quickly. I wish I had more info.

Good question. I'm open to suggestions. I was thinking we could do something up Spanish Fork Canyon, or 5 mile pass, or out west of the lake, or ????

5 mile or west of lake would be fine with me. Actually i would be fine with anywhere.

I just talked to Loyal Clark, the USFS Information Officer for AF Canyon, and she said that Tibble Fork is still open. So we're on! And bring firewood now.
