Rubicon Shakedown Run #1: Mineral Basin, Aug 3rd and 4th

Teressa will be jealous that she won't get to see Cedar.

I am really tight on space. I'm bringing 3 other adults and their gear in my rig, so we'll be kinda squished. If I can fit it in, I'll bring it. If not, I'll bring a shovel and we can pack the ashes out.
 
Bad news - I'm out for tonight. I thought I could pull it off but it's not going to work. You guys are going to fly up there with a small number of rigs. Hope the fire danger is nil and you guys have a great camping night. Be safe! I'll meet up with you next Saturday at snakes.
 
So my runner is in pieces in my driveway, and it's freaking hot out there and I really don't wanna wrench any more today, and I wish like hell I was headed up with you guys. Have fun.

Try not to get eaten by the bears.
 
I got some great video from this trip. I'll be putting together a trip report/video tonight. If anyone has any pics that they'd like in the video, send me a link to them so I can include them.
 
hey steve, I just want to thank you for putting this together, me and my g/f had a lot of fun! looking forward to the trip report, I need to get a freakin camera so I have something to contribute in the future
 
You're very welcome, it would have been the same without you two. Thanks for coming and bearing with us on that brutal hike. My camera sucks, I think its time for me to get a dslr so I can capture the moment better.

The gopro footage turned out really good, it should be a fun video.
 
I had a blast. My boy couldn't stop telling his mom about it when I dropped him off. Luckily my sister didn't kill me after hearing about my nephew cutting his finger.

My son also got a huge kick out of Cedar.
 
Glad you had fun Dillon. Trips like that remind me that I need to get out more. That was so enjoyable and relaxing. You should be glad you didn't have time for the hike, it was BRUTAL.
 
The video is done, but YouTube says 570 min left 'till it's done uploading. It's a pretty cool video if I may say so myself. If the video is uploaded by tomorrow night, I'll do a writeup then.
 
Were you guys looking for us up forest lake or mineral basin? By the time we got down from Pittsburgh lake it was 2 and we were beat.
