San Rafael Swell trip, Feb 9-12

It looks like my brother can't get Friday off work. I'll ride with you Steve. I can help with gas or food too.

sounds good. It's not the most comfortable rig, but it'll be a good time for sure. Just plan on bringing your own food/cooler/sleeping stuff.

I'm pumped that there will be some guitar around the fire. For some reason, guitar just sounds better out in the desert.

Any update on the itinerary? Still trying to make a final decision.

I'll get an update in an hour or so. Still trying to find a route that isn't over in 3 hours, but isn't 100 miles long. Sorry you all are at my mercy of my first swell trip planning. I promise I'm working on it now. Thanks for your patience everyone.

So just to clarify, this shindig is going Thursday through Saturday, not Sunday as originally planned?

Correct. I'm heading home Saturday night. There's an option for people to camp over sunday night, but I'm planning on leaving saturday night (probably around 8 or so).

I do not know what you are talking about. My perusings of YouTube is limited.
And I just remembered that my comb is electric, so I won't be able to jam out with it unless someone's got an inverter for my amp. ;)

Ive got a 700 w inverter that would work for ur electric comb... :greg:

Friday night campsite is here. We will not be more than 200 yards from here. We'll make sure our vehicles and our fire are visible from this point. We'll probably pull about 100 feet off the road, assuming there is an established place to do so.

I'm making a KMZ file of the entire route that you can all download for exact details.

by my rough calculations in google earth, we'll cover about 200-250 miles on dirt. YOU MUST BRING EXTRA FUEL. Please plan on having enough fuel to go 300 miles, just to be safe.
