I ordered some bronze konig flatouts. 15x8 25mm a few weeks back. Then I ordered some Bridgestone Potenza RE-11A tires for them. 205/5-r15.

I just got back from the Rubicon, great times! I was wishing I had my miata for the roads near Georgetown. I will definitely be taking the miata back to Nor Cal.

When I got back home, my tires were there waiting for me. So I got them installed and threw them on and went for a quick drive. I LOVE the tires. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, they're better than nothing.

The car looks tons better, and these tires grip like crazy. I couldn't get them to squeal at all while staying in the speed limit. I'll have to take them to the next autox to see where their limits are. Super fun tires, and I went through a lot of rain and several puddles of standing water. They did great at hydroplane resistance and they stuck like glue.

It'll look a lot better when I get my coilovers and drop it about an inch to fill the fenders.

Thanks. The coilovers just came in this week. I'll need to install them, and the sway bar, and then it'll be a go-cart for sure.

I finally got my coilovers, front sway bar, and prop valve and stainless brake lines. The last autocross of the year is this Saturday in St. George. I don't think I'm going to make it, but I'm going to try to get my car ready in case I change my mind at the last minute.

I got the pass front coilover and brake line installed last night:

As well as the prop valve:

And I got the driver's front done today during my lunch break:

I'll be installing the rear coilovers tonight, finishing the rear brake lines, bleeding and adjusting the brakes, then it's off for an alignment tomorrow before the race.

Steve, if you end up changing your mind, we might go for another drive Saturday. Last weekend we drove to Kamas for lunch and then came around through Midway and over the Alpine Loop, other than the loop being a parking lot it was a fun afternoon.

I'm not going to go to the autox after all. I can only attend one day, and since it's a match tour registration is $95. As much as I love autocross, $95 for 4 runs is a bit steep. At least I know it'll be ready for the start of the season next year

I'd be down for a drive. I'm itching to see what this new setup feels like, but I don't want to pay $95 for 4 1-minute runs. Let me know where you're planning on driving.

Fat Tony came over on Saturday and helped me do my timing belt and water pump. I've never done a timing belt before, but it wasn't bad at all. We found that the t-beld had been replaced around 2010, so it probably wasn't due yet, but it gives me peace of mind to swap the belts, hoses, and seals in that area. However, we also found that when the PO replaced the timing belt, the exhaust camshaft was advanced one tooth. So I'm glad we went in to replace it anyway.

When we buttoned it all up, it wouldn't start. It cranked just fine, but it wouldn't fire up. After some googling, we realized we'd put the crank angle sensor wheel on backwards, and the indexing tabs weren't aligned with the CAS. 10 minutes later, we had it flipped around and it fired right up. It runs like a champ, revs quicker than before, and is super smooth all the way to 7500 rpm. Now I'm ready for some worry-free road trips.

It's been a few months since I've driven this, and I forgot just how much fun driving can be. I love this little thing.

It's surprising how many cars end up with the timing off a tooth I know it's super common on Hondas of my vintage. Glad to hear you guys corrected it.

Looks good I like all the work you've done

Thanks. There's not much more to do to this. I may get a second set of wheels and tires for longer tread life on long trips, and I may end up getting a rollbar and better seats so I can take it on the track, but that's about it.
