The housing looks great. sorry to hear about the front leak, what did TG have to say about it? I have heard that the studs not lining up is common.

That's interesting feedback. I hadn't heard that before. It was EXTREMELY frustrating buying a new housing for $600, only to have it not line up. TG hasn't been real helpful in the past, so I didn't bother contacting them. I had one of their bumpers and it didn't sit even remotely even, and they just said "well, all our bumpers are laser cut and come out within a thousandth of an inch so your frame must be bent." They denied that their product had a problem. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big TG fan, but I know I'll just get the runaround with their customer service. I shouldn't have to drill out my third member hole to make it line up though. That was ridiculous. It took 2 hours to get the third onto the housing.

That's messed up. I would have sent it back and chewed them out if they said that to me.. That bolt not lining up tells me they don't check there parts once in awile. Cut it, weld it, ship it,say its perfect.
But I saw it for myself last night and that thing is sexy...and small lol guess I got used to seeing my 1tons so seeing a cute little Yota axle is a bit of a shock. And thanks again for letting me use your welder, I got my stuff tacked up and the bronco is back on the ground! How ya like my flipped h1's? Or my coils? Lol

Lookin good mitch. by the time I realized the front housing wouldn't fit, I was 80% done with the axle swap. And it took 2 weeks to ship, so I didn't want to spend the rest of the day uninstalling it, waiting to ship it back and waiting for a new one to arrive, then re-paint the new one and re-install new inner oil seals and re-install it into my truck.. And I was trying to get my axle installed in time for my Pony Express Trip (barely made it). I'm so sick of working on this truck that the thought of re-doing anything at this point is just daunting. Once I get the leaks fixed it should be good. I'm not impressed that it didn't line up, but I only had to wallow out one hole in the diff. That still shouldn't be required, but I just wanted it installed.

Yeah, it definitely looks funny from the front. Do you mean the camber? My trunions are good. My tires look that way because they're worn on the inside from the last housing being bent. You can't adjust the camber on a mini truck, so either my tires are worn, or my brand new housing is bent. I'm 99.9% sure the housing isn't bent, and I'm 100% sure my tires are worn uneven.

Sorry to hear about the diff leak. The axle looks awesome though!

I will be putting in a call to the trail gear guys on this issue. Not asking them to do anything since it is pretty much installed now, but I will let them know about the problem. Maybe after enough complaints they will change.

sounds good Davy, thanks. Here's the feedback for TG:

diff studs didn't align with the holes in the diff (HP elocker diff).

The leak is coming from the bottom of the INSIDE of the third. The RA housing is flat on the bottom, and the third is rounded. Maybe it's unique to the HP elocker third, but there is a little gap/channel in the very bottom of the third member where it leaks out. If the RA housing were rounded at the bottom it wouldn't leak at all. I honestly think it's the way the high pinion elocker is designed, and that it has that oil channel when the others don't. Either way, it's a dissappointment that TG didn't warn about that. I wish I had known before I installed it, I would have welded the channel up, or plugged it with goop or something before filling it with oil.

I am glad you are contacting TG about this. Hopefully they fix the issure before I bend my housing and need to order one of theirs. I would also aske them for a hoodie or something for the trouble. I hightly doubt that a new housing would be bent. It looks nice and straight in your pictures.

Wait a minute....I don't remember delivering a rock assault housing?!? :D

Does look good under there tho Steve! I got to meet the TG guys the other day, bunch of nice guys. I have heard in the past tho that there customer service or "support" is kind of a joke. But that was just from "he said she said" situations. Personally I have never had an issue.

any updates on anything else steve? think I saw you comment on someones roof top tent ad awhile back and you were also talking about modifying the back for better sleeping arrangements, anything on this?

I'm very happy with the sleeping arangements in the back. I don't think I'll ever be without a truck that I can sleep in the back. It's awesome pulling up to a camp spot, starting a fire, and climbing into the back when it's time to go to bed.

I have spoken with trail gear and they will pick up this housing and drop off a new housing free of charge. Let me know if that is something you are interested in. I assume not since you don't want to go through all the work again. It is an option though.

You are the man Davy. NO question you have proven yourself as a vendor. I appreciate what you went through to get to this point. I'll think about it...

I also appreciate TG standing behind their product, that's great news.

I pulled the rear third tonight (I swear it's the last time every that I'll pull that diff), and sealed it up with some permatex "right stuff". thanks for the tip Greg, that stuff works really well. It's about 3x more expensive than ultra grey, but it's definitely worth it. And I dig the pressurized can it comes in. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there won't be any drips below my diff tomorrow morning.

Now I just need to get the front diff to stop leaking, fix the ebrake, and get an alignment before I freeze my tail off in Lucin this weekend.
