The PAVEMENT thread: Cars, Racing, Drives, Speed...

What do you have against Provo canyon? I have fun everytime I drive through it, whether I'm in my truck, car, or on my bike.

I love the canyon itself, but not the idiots who pull random u-turns in the middle of a blind corner. Remember that moron in the Suburban over Memorial weekend who did that and killed some folks? Unfortunately it wasn't the moron in the 3.5 ton SUV who died.

I actually just stopped by the machine shop today cuz I've been putting my Camaro motor back together after a lifter issue.
T76 turbo'd 383 LT1/LT4 on 11+psi 850+flywheel hp daily driver? lol why not.

After I play with the Camaro a bit I'm planning on selling or parting it out and buying a C5 Z06 Corvette.

Rear mount I take it? Aside from the intercooler my buddy has your car twin, although it's been sitting for 2 years with a blown turbo while he is driving his 2009 SS around with even more power.

Any interest in a sat morning drive 7am start time? There is a small chance I may be out of town this weekend but if not I think I'm going to go for a drive. I live in Davis county but can do what ever. I have a 72 f100 sport custom it's no race car but its fun to drive.

Anyone know if this road is open? Middle Canyon, from Herriman to Tooele.

Its open at the bottom, can't say how far its open. I know some of the Herriman patrol guys said there was a new gate up there somewhere, but I think it was to block the road to overlook the pit not the canyon

Yeah, I've heard the overlook is blocked. That canyon is iffy every year on wether it's going to reopen or not. I'm not 100% certain, but I believe the road up and over is required to be open, I could be wrong though.

Can anyone confirm if this is all pavement? I seem to remember diamond fork being gravel.

Middle canyon was open about a month ago when I went up. The overlook was closed. It does change to a dirt/gravel road up top

You should still run up Butterfield to the top where it changes. It's a fun road and has a great view

Awesome.

Here's another drive I'd like to do soon.
